About this project
Doomtown: Reloaded is a poker-driven territory control card game, based on the 1998 Origins Awards Best Trading Card Game, Deadlands: Doomtown, by our friends at Alderac Entertainment Group!
So what's this hullabaloo all about? Glad you asked, partner!
The Doomtown: Reloaded: There Comes a Reckoning Kickstarter features 96 NEW cards for the Doomtown: Reloaded Expandable Card Game. There are four copies each of 24 unique cards to expand your play experience (and more uniques if we hit our Stretch Goals!).
We've got reward levels for just the cards as well as a new sturdy cardboard box, the "trunk," that comes with all kinds of other goodies...and move as we unlock the Stretch Goals below!
The new cards add support for all six factions as well as themes such as Blessed and Gadgets. It's also the first set to introduce a new card type—Legends!
Legends represent the most badass and influential figures the Weird West has to offer.
There Comes a Reckoning also introduces key elements of the greater Deadlands setting and features stunning art from the industry's best artists.
The Servitors are the most powerful adversaries the Weird West has to offer, second only to their masters, the Reckoners–otherwise known as the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse!
Now YOU can harness the power of Ezekiah Grimme (Famine), Raven (War), Darius Hellstromme (Pestilence), or Jasper Stone (Death).
Legends trade starting wealth in exchange for power. You now have the option to attach a Servitor to your Outfit’s home in order to enable far-reaching strategies. Keep in mind though that evil in Deadlands is always a choice, and always comes with a price!
SERVITORS ARE PART OF THERE COMES A RECKONING AND ARE INCLUDED IN EVERY PLEDGE LEVEL. SHERIFF, MARSHAL, AND MOTHER LODE PLEDGES ALL RECEIVE FULL ART SERVITORS IN ADDITION!
The rules of play have been streamlined and clarified from their release in the Doomtown: Reloaded base set. There Comes a Reckoning comes with these newer, easier to understand, rules and clarifications in beautifully illustrated full color!
Want some examples? Formin' posses to complete jobs now functions just like formin' a posse for a shootout. Those pesky spell abilities can only be used once per day like every other ability. And you'll never truly tie in lowball again!
Want to Give Doomtown: Reloaded a Try?
Check out the print and play demo decks and quick start rules here! You'll need 2 different color sets of card sleeves, 60 each, and cards to slide behind the print and play decks, for sturdiness. You will also need some tokens (e.g. poker chips in red, blue, and one other color) or three different color 20-sided dice, for influence, control and ghost rock.
We have a passel of Stretch Goals ready to go if we exceed our funding goal. Take a gander at what we're ready to reveal right away, and look for many more IF you help us get the word out to the rest of the hexslingers out there on the frontier!
****SHERIFF, MARSHAL AND MOTHER LODE PLEDGES RECEIVE ALL STRETCH GOALS!****
****ALL CARDS UNLOCKED AS STRETCH GOALS COME WITH 4 COPIES.****
The Doomtown Trunk is a sturdy cardboard box designed to hold all your cards from the Doomtown: Reloaded base set and expansions, and of course includes There Comes a Reckoning! It also has dividers to help you stay organized! (Pics of those to come soon, partner!)
The overall dimensions of the Doomtown Trunk are roughly 9 x 4 x 11 inches.
Add Doomtown flavor to your Deadlands RPG with this sourcebook containing characters, locations, foes, and relics from Gomorra's history. If you've new to the Deadlands RPG, the current version uses the Savage Worlds core rules and that's what you'll find here.
The rules of play have been streamlined and clarified from their release in the Doomtown: Reloaded base set, and reprinted in a premium, full color, rulebook for easier book learnin'!

THESE PRICES ARE KICKSTARTER EXCLUSIVE!
1. PDF Delivery
Shortly after the Kickstarter ends and all funds are collected, we'll begin delivering PDF rewards through DriveThruRPG.com. PDFs will also be available through PEGinc.com.
2. Physical Delivery
Our company is based in the United States. A third party shipping service will pack and fulfill most orders. The service has fulfillment centers in Asia, Australia, Canada, France and Germany (for EU friendly shipping), the United Kingdom, and the United States. It is our hope is that this results in lower customs taxes and shipping costs for many of you.
China, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, and Taiwan Update
Per backer request, shipping has been updated for Japan, Singapore, South Korea, and Taiwan.
Where we could not update the reward level the backer pays "Rest of the World" shipping prices. This is a Kickstarter issue intended to keep creators from making backers pay more in shipping after their pledge (unfortunately, it also locks in the Rest of the World shipping for that country once one backer pledges that way).
However, the updated shipping rates will be used in the pledge manager after the Kickstarter, meaning those backers paying for Rest of the World shipping will see a credit in their account which can be used for Add-Ons.
Here are the reward levels and base shipping prices for China, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, and Taiwan:
- Deputy (Physical) $13 USD
- Sheriff (Trunk) $30 USD
- Marshal (Trunk + Base) $53 USD
- Mother Lode (both Early Bird and non--it's discounted!) $36 USD
If you have any questions, or don't see your country listed, email PEGJodi at gmail.com.
We'll get in touch with you when There Comes a Reckoning is close to shipping and offer you some incredible deals! You'll also be able to order from the rest of the Pinnacle catalog through our partners at Studio2, as well!
Here's what we think will still be available by the time we're ready to ship:

What is Deadlands?
Pinnacle’s flagship product is Deadlands, a horrific journey into the “Weird West.” Mysterious beings called the Reckoners have given life to monsters and magic, causing history to divert from July 4th, 1863 forward. The South has won its independence, California has shattered into a labyrinth of flooded sea-canyons, and a mysterious super-fuel called “ghost rock” has spawned as much war and strife as it has “steampunk” devices. Players are steely-eyed gunfighters, card-slinging sorcerers called hucksters, mysterious shamans, savage braves, mad scientists, and more who battle against evil and attempt to prevent the “Reckoning”.
The Original Doomtown
Doomtown first appeared as Deadlands: Doomtown, a card game based on the hit Weird Western RPG setting, Deadlands, from Pinnacle Entertainment Group. It was designed by Dave Williams and published by Pinnacle's friends and frequent partners Alderac Entertainment Group.
Arriving to much acclaim, Doomtown's awards included the 1998 Origins Trading Card Game of the Year and 1998 Inquest Magazine Game of the Year.
Each expansion featured cards that tied into an ongoing storyline. The gameplay recreated both building a town and fighting to defend or take over in-play locations.
Doomtown’s signature mechanic involved combat resolution by poker hands with casualties inflicted by comparing hand rank differentials. After two years and 16 expansions, Doomtown ended its storied run.
In 2014, Alderac Entertainment Group rebooted the game as Doomtown Reloaded. While the core mechanics remained, AEG streamlined Doomtown down to six factions and emphasized in-town movement and conflict. Unlike a CCG (collectible card game) where saddlebag expansions contained a random assortment of cards, each new set contained a fixed suite of cards.
The reboot won back veterans of the original game while also appealing to a new group of players.
Doomtown Reloaded also received Golden Geek nominations from BoardGameGeek voters for Best Card Game and Best 2-Player Board Game.
In 2016, AEG and Pinnacle mutually decided it was time to fold Doomtown into the heart of Deadlands. All of the game's assets and inventory were transferred to Pinnacle, and several team members and community stalwarts formed Pine Box Entertainment (PBE) to create the new expansions alongside upcoming plans for the Weird West itself.
Working closely with Pinnacle Entertainment Group, PBE now brings the larger world of Deadlands to Doomtown Reloaded. AEG was always involved with the tale of the Weird West, but now that it's "home" both tales can be more fully integrated into the larger saga told in Deadlands novels from Tor, comics from Visionary, the roleplaying game, and of course any other media that may arise in the future!
Whether you have ridden the trails leading to and from Gomorra for years or are a tenderfoot just drifting into town, know that, eventually, There Comes a Reckoning.
Welcome to the Weird West, amigos!
