What is a prototype?

A prototype is a preliminary model of something. Projects that offer physical products need to show backers documentation of a working prototype. This gallery features photos, videos, and other visual documentation that will give backers a sense of what’s been accomplished so far and what’s left to do. Though the development process can vary for each project, these are the stages we typically see:

Proof of Concept

Explorations that test ideas and functionality.

Functional Prototype

Demonstrates the functionality of the final product, but looks different.

Appearance Prototype

Looks like the final product, but is not functional.

Design Prototype

Appearance and function match the final product, but is made with different manufacturing methods.

Production Prototype

Appearance, function, and manufacturing methods match the final product.

About

Capturing anomalies in the infrared. The UFO Cam project is a network of wireless and completely autonomous motion detection cameras pointed at the sky.

A mysterious world of ufos and unknown anomalies lie just outside our visible spectrum. Invisible to the naked eye these entities reside in the infrared and ultraviolet ranges of light.

These anomalies , or ufo’s, traverse our skies every day. And most people never notice. Let’s get a closer look at these incredible objects and study for ourselves, if they showcase intelligence, if so are they communicating, and what their purpose or origin is.

Let’s get a closer look , appreciate and begin to understand this hidden world all around us.

- The Camera's.
The purpose of the camera is to deploy a fully independent , autonomous motion detection application that can capture anomalies at any given location and simultaneously upload them to our public feed at www.ufocamnet.com

Rather than concluding with immediate conjecture, each capture is met with scrutiny and research to rule out any possibility of natural occurrences or human interference in the surrounding environment.

Our objective is to deploy a public and scientific study on these anomalies with participation from a community of researchers, scientists, UFO enthusiasts and individuals who simply want to participate and learn more about these subjects.

With a larger network we can cover more sky, which means more capture data, and an ongoing community of researchers, enthusiasts and individuals working to understand, appreciate and find answers to this hidden world around us.

Risks and challenges

A single prototype is already functional and fully operational with the UFOCamNet web site and server back-end (UFOCam 1.0.0Beta). Currently disseminating live captures to the open-source community via UFOCamNet.com.

Although we have designed UFOCam 1.0.0b to be assembled in the most cost-effective way possible, we are confronted with the financial challenges of building many more cameras to expand our network.

We also have several upcoming revisions and modifications in place for future versions of the camera. Including multiple cameras in single deployable application. These include UV, IR and visible spectrum cameras in one application.

The next revision is equipped with a high telephoto zoom lens capable of capturing hi-def video. In addition to additional hardware, this revision is equipped with additional software to execute automatic target zoom and tracking functionality. Capable of automatically tracking a moving object picked up by the sensors and initiating high telephoto zoom in to obtain the highest quality close-up video capture picture.

We are also working on two separate models.

Model A - A larger design capable of housing additional equipment and components needed for signal amplification in remote areas.

Model B - A much smaller and low-profile unit with similar dimensions of a GoPro camera. Capable of being mounted to any structure in any position in a low-profile fashion.

We are attempting to raise enough funds to produce a large number of cameras that we will be able to deploy a large network across various locations.
