Our vision is to be the first full-service client management system for tutors that delivers customized worksheets for tutoring sessions and provides parents and tutors a continuous feedback loop.
Think of us as a platform that is more than just an assistant for tutors, but instead, the resources of a whole team working to help you and your students succeed.
We will be the only data-driven full-service management tool for tutors. Period.
It’s about time that we empower our tutors, giving them the tools they need to provide enterprise-level test prep to families at a price we can all afford. With a 28% year-over-year increase in parents demanding tutors for their children, paired with tutoring platforms on the market which completely ignore the hard work educators put forth to create lesson plans each week, it is apparent to our team that now is the time to step in and change the tutoring industry forever.
With this money, we will begin the initial construction of this platform, expecting to have Phase 1 accessible to backers by September 2019. Be the first to experience the future of private tutoring!
How will it work?
LectureLab will require students to take an initial assessment that will generate appropriately-leveled content for all tutoring sessions based on the results of that assessment.
This platform will require tutors to submit reports, allowing the system to track student progress between sessions and updating consecutive lesson content in real time.
In addition to its main function, our platform will allow tutors to add students to their profile, take payment for each lesson, manage their calendar, input notes on families, submit reports, and communicate directly with families. It will also allow families to connect directly with tutors who are using the LectureLab platform.
What type of content will the platform offer?
This is a great question! We will begin building this comprehensive platform by inputting Pre-K to 8th grade test preparation content into our database. This will include the following exams: ERB AABL, ERB CTP-4, ERB ECAA, ERB ISEE, WISC, WPPSI, Stanford-Binet, GATES, NYC Gifted and Talented, ITBS, TerraNova, Texas STAAR, New York State ELA & Math, OLSAT, NNAT, and Chicago Area Gifted Programs.
From there we will expand into high school-level test prep content like SAT and ACT. In our final stages of development, we will begin growing academic tutoring content like math and reading.
Tutors will make more money, deliver a higher-quality service, and be able to grow their tutoring business with ease using our full-service platform that allows them to do the following:
- Take payment for each lesson
- Submit data-backed reports
- Communicate directly with current clients
- Manage tutoring schedule
- Connect with new clients
- Generate, view, and print upcoming tutoring materials... and more!
Our platform for tutors will have a parent portal to ensure transparency during the tutoring process. Parents can opt-in to the following:
- See previous session reports that are tied to academic benchmarks and data-points
- View their child's upcoming lesson plan
- Communicate with their tutor directly
- Pay and track tutor directly through platform
- Schedule tutoring sessions
- Search and connect with qualified tutors on our private marketplace
parents will be able to subscribe to access our customized content feature without a tutor.

Whether it is $1 or $1200, we appreciate anything you can give. Can't pledge any amount of money? Share our story with your friends on social media. We believe in this project with all of our heart, and need your help to make it a reality.
How will we get from Kickstarter launch to Phase 1? We have an angel investor who is willing to match whatever you pitch in! He just wants to see if anyone would use our platform. Obviously, we know you will. Let's show him that you support this idea and get you all to growing your tutoring business as soon as possible!
Phase 1 (estimated launch of September 2019): We will launch our platform with all the tutoring management features, excluding the scheduling function. A select list of test preparation content will be used to initially test the platform (ie. AABL, NYC G&T, Stanford-Binet, CTP-4, NY State ELA & Math, ISEE, and ECAA)
Phase 2: In this phase, we will add in the calendar feature for tutors to be able to manage upcoming bookings in one place (and sync to other platforms like Google Calendar). We will add additional test preparation content (ie. CogAt, ITBS, TerraNova, PARCC, Texas STAAR, and NWEA Map).
Phase 3: This is where we will take all of the user feedback from beta testing to make updates and improvements to our new platform. We will continue adding exam preparation content to the database.
Phase 4: Finally, we will add in SAT and ACT content. We will also begin adding academic tutoring content to the platform. This will include content for math and reading sessions for students from ages pre-k to 12th grade.
Risks and challenges
For almost half a decade, our founding team has worked within every department of a big-brand test preparation tutoring company. We know what works and what doesn't. We are going to devote every energy we have to ensure that the production of this platform is centered around the tutor and student experience.
If in the off chance that there are setbacks, we will always keep you informed with frequent and transparent updates.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
