It's all about the animals!
Talons, Tails, and Tusks is a creature design book in the style of a traveler's journal! It is stuffed full of over 30 original creatures in the form of 'photos' [full color paintings], field notes, and sketches [line drawings] of the creatures and their habitats! This book is an adventure of its own with creatures of all kinds; from cute-and-cuddly to creepy-crawlies -- it has a bit of everything!
This book stems from my love of nature and fantasy! I wanted a personal project to spend my spare time merging the two. I constantly draw animals [real and imaginary] as morning warm-ups and lunchtime sketches; so it only seems natural to take it further! This book is perfect for anyone who likes animals, adventure, and fantasy!
How it evolved...
In March 2013 I received a grant from the Weisman Foundation to partially fund Talons, Tails and Tusks. Part of the requirements of the grant is that the project is completed by August 23rd 2013. I hope that knowing someone else already supports this project will give you added confidence as a funder. That grant was the first step toward making this book a reality, but I still need to cover the remaining costs of printing.
Survival of the funded
The money raised from this Kickstarter goes towards the costs of printing books for rewards as well as a run of books to send to potential distributors and clients. Keep in mind that it is all or nothing; in order for this project to succeed I must meet the goal of $1000 or I won't receive any of it. Every little bit makes a difference!
Through CreateSpace (an Amazon company) I am able to self-publish this full color paperback book! It is resources like Kickstarter and CreateSpace that make independent art projects like this a reality. But most importantly it is the support of individuals like you who see the value in what I am making ... THANK YOU!

You guys are awesome! We have past the minimum project goal, but there is another reward in sight.
When we reach $1750 you will unlock two 8.5x11" prints including the Peacerous and one other unreleased creature! All donors 25$ and above will receive these two prints with their reward delivery!
Risks and challenges
The major challenge with this project is that it is due August 23rd! There is still art to complete and not much time to do it, but the project is running smoothly and I know it will be complete and well worth the wait upon its arrival!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
