About this project

It's hard to eat less when your plate isn't cooperating. Meet HALVED, a tongue in cheek dinnerware set that is funny and useful.
Thanks for stopping by our Kickstarter page. We're Fajar, Jeremy and Jo, 3 regular guys who had an idea over dinner one night and decided to make it happen.
HALVED is exactly what it is- a ceramic plate, mug and bowl set that has been halved. It comes in 5 colours- green, blue, yellow, white and brown (only 3 colours shown).
SO, HOW DID HALVED COME ABOUT?
We love our food. But we're constantly being told that to stay healthy, we should be cutting down on our portions. Psychologically, it felt hard for us to do it. Seeing a small portion on a regular plate feels like a real downer. So we thought, why not just half the plate? That way, a smaller portion feels like it's always a full portion!
Of course, HALVED this isn't certified by any dietitian or nutritionist. HALVED is really just an interesting conversation starter. Everyone we've shown this to can't help but smile and ask for a set.
AND, WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO?
We've teamed up with one of the finest ceramic artists in Bandung, Indonesia to make HALVED. Bandung is a city that has a reputation for expert craftsmanship. Our artist has experience making dinnerware for established restaurants for many years, so we know HALVED is in good hands. We've already had the prototypes made and with your funding, we'll create master molds for the plate, mug and bowl for larger productions. The master moulds will cost us about £1,000.
The rest of the funding goes to producing HALVED for your rewards.
A CLOSER LOOK AT THE REWARDS
If you've got any questions or want to keep updated about this project, you can pop by our Facebook page. We'll get back to you real quick.
Alternatively, you can also head to Crowdfundingforum.com to discuss the project. We'll be setting up camp there for the next 30 days as well.

Risks and challenges
Rewarding our backers will always be our biggest (and most rewarding?) challenge. If our project is successfully funded, the stoves at our workshop will go into overdrive. Unfortunately, we don’t have a massive assembly line factory to bang those babies out, so we’ll be working extra hard to make sure the first batch of early bird rewards are made, packed and shipped off.
Another challenge that we didn’t foresee when we started this project is obtaining the colours needed for HALVED. We’ve had to drop some colours we love because the dyes aren’t in stock. We’ve been assured that the colours we are offering to you are in stock.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
At the moment, the coiours we have- white, green, blue, yellow and brown, are the ones we're most confident of delivering.
It all boils down to supply of the pigments for the dye and whether or not the dye can be applied consistently to the ceramic.
Red is a colour we've tried very hard to offer but unfortunately our artist dude in Bandung can't guarantee the supply of red dye. Boo.
