About this project
Sports is a $450 billion industry making it one of the top ten largest industries in the United States. If you are in the sports industry or want to be in the sports industry you need to understand whats driving the market, who the leaders are and how they make their money. You don’t get that kind of information from the mainstream media and they don’t write it on the board in your sports marketing class. This kind of information only comes from professional journalism.
My name is Brian Berger and I’m the founder and host of Sports Business Radio, a one-of-a-kind podcast that allows listeners to hear in-depth conversations with the key decision makers in the world of sports. Our guests outline how they arrived at the decisions that shape the sports landscape and they share their path to success so you can achieve yours.
Big name guests who have appeared with me include NBA Commissioner David Stern, Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, NCAA President Mark Emmert, MLS Commissioner Don Garber, BCS Executive Director Bill Hancock, golf icon Jack Nicklaus, NBA Hall of Famer and TV analyst Charles Barkley and Los Angeles Dodgers President and co-owner Stan Kasten.
Sports Business Radio is a dedicated sports business team who lives and breathes this industry and we are seeking the support from the people who find this type of information valuable. Like any industry, in sports you get ahead by knowing more about your market than anyone else. And that’s exactly what we try to bring you every week. The type of sports business analysis you just can’t find anywhere else. We will dig down and follow all the leads to bring you the inside story about the business deals in sports that really matter.
But as you can imagine producing this type of professional product has built-in hard costs like studio fees, professional tools and outside tech experts. So if you work for a team, are a vendor to the sports industry, a content supplier to the sports industry, an agent, a business manager, want to get in the sports industry or just want to understand how the sports industry works behind the scenes; we are asking for your help in keeping the Sports Business Radio podcast alive.
We go to great lengths to chase down our big name guests. This not only takes time but sometimes requires us to travel to meet up with them in person. We would like to take Sports Business Radio on the road to universities around the United States (with a potential focus on Sports MBA programs). We will bring in a big name guest for an in-depth conversation before a studio audience where the big name guest would also answer questions from the studio audience. This would serve as a great educational opportunity for students to hear from and interact with a key decision maker from the sports industry. These conversations will be recorded and available via podcast to you. We hope to make this show the sports equivalent of "Inside the Actor's Studio" hosted by James Lipton.
The money we raise from this project will allow us to reach these goals. Thank you for your consideration.
