The Dejects follows IVY PRIZER, a straight A student on the verge of a nervous breakdown, gets rejected from her dream school, Harvard. EZRA, the egotistical but charming salutatorian, and MILES, the all-star basketball player, team up to show Ivy the fun in high school that she missed out on as she faces BROOKE, a seemingly undeserving candidate who got into Harvard instead.
This film is being created by University of Michigan students in one of the top film production courses within the Screen Arts and Cultures Department. Our cast and crew hails from departments all over the university, including the Ross School of Business, the Penny W. Stamps School of Art & Design, the School of Literature, Science, & the Arts, and the School of Music, Theatre, & Dance. We are extremely excited to collaborate on this project!

Risks and challenges
The SAC 423 production course has the distinction of receiving the only two automatic bids to the Traverse City Film Festival each year. These two films are amongst the largest productions on campus, and we need your support in order to be able to create this project. We set incredibly high standards for every aspect of the film, and your support will enable this story to reach the screen.
Ways that your support can help us are:
Food is one of the most important things we will need on the set; in order for our crew to be healthy and happy. We have over 30 cast and crew members working vigorous hours and they need to be fed! We've reached out to local restaurants to try an obtain food for free or at reduced cost, but we could really use your help in order to provide meals for our crew.
Wardrobe, Props, and Set Design:
Our production design team will need your support in order to be able to decorate our sets and clothe our characters. We have a lot of materials to consider when crafting a completely fictional private institution. They are highly resourceful and will be to put your donations to incredible use.
The University of Michigan is generously providing us with equipment, but we will rent some additional equipment in order to give the film as high of a production value as possible.
