Delayed assembly and shipments

Posted by Bobby Genalo (Creator)

Hey everyone, I wanted to reach out about our noticeable delay in shipping your lamps.

Shortly after we mailed 7 lamps in July and August (successful, secure, trackable deliveries to California, Oklahoma, New York, Denmark, and Australia), the studio in which my project manager was assembling lamps was shuttered.  The landlord forced all occupants out within the month, leaving Shawn and I to hunt for a new space in which to complete the work.  Long story short, a small 1911 garage (originally designed for early motor vehicles, I can only presume) now contains all things Orrery Lamp and we're now both assembling the many beautiful and intricate components housed in your lamps in anticipation of another batch of shipments next week.

As an FYI, for each lamp shipped I send an email to each respective backer informing them of the looming delivery as well as its corresponding tracking information.  Needless to say, if you haven't received an email directly from me, your lamp has yet to ship.

Thank you for your patience, which I can understand is nearing its breaking point.  I hope my continued (though sparse) updates and first set of successfully delivered lamps are a strong indicator as to how committed I am to getting these out the (garage) door and into your home.

It's one thing to wait for a product, but it's another thing to go 10 months without a lamp in one's living room. Please keep rolling on this... we want our lamps!

Oh that sounds miserable - but the new space sounds lovely and full of stories. Post a photo! Thank you for the update: am super excited, still - and hopefully this gives me the time to paint the wall in the lamp’s future home...

As someone who has been active in voicing frustration, I also want to share my respect for getting back to us and providing a broader picture. I'm sorry to hear about what sounds like a bad experience for you both, but am happy you've found a solution. Hopefully this arrangement supports everything you need. I'm a big fan of this project and thus, the multiple inquiries. Now that I (we all) have more details, I'm back to looking forward to receiving the lamp. As much as it is a functional lamp, it's also a beautiful piece of art. Thanks for the update and good luck with getting everyone their respective products. Chris Heimbuch.
