🍑 Announcing The Peach Pack, the First Expansion
First, the big news! You Think You Know Me is getting its first expansion, The Peach Pack, a NSFW adults-only deck of 106 new cards that playfully tests how well you know your friends or partner(s) in the bedroom.
You can play the Peach Pack as a standalone game, or shuffle the new cards into your full You Think You Know Me deck for a peachy surprise. I just launched it on Kickstarter and you can back it RIGHT NOW!
When I first started designing You Think You Know Me, I wanted to make something that could be played by everyone: families, friends, co-workers, or even with strangers.
But from the moment I launched the project, I knew there was room for something more adult and intimate, a game you'd only play with those closest to you.
It was really important to me to make it gender-neutral — not making any assumptions about the gender identity or orientations of the people playing — and by opening conversations around consent by encouraging players to talk about their sexual preferences, while still being fun and silly like the original game.
Please go check it out if you can. I hope you love it, want to have it, and if you feel like sharing it, I'd be very thankful!
The Second Run
Since my last update in June, I sold out every single one of the 2,000 copies from my original print run — months earlier than I could have ever dreamed, leaving me without a single copy for the holiday season.
How did that happen?!
About 35% of the initial print run went out to you, my amazing Kickstarter backers, leaving 1,300 copies to be distributed to retailers and direct sales through my website. You Think You Know Me was already available in over 20 different stores around the country, and through me on Amazon and my own site. Sales were better than expected, and stock was getting low...
And then Brooklyn-based retailer UncommonGoods reached out to me, wanting to put the game in their Winter catalog. They wanted to place an order for thousands of games, when I only had about 250 copies left.
So I sent them every copy I had left in stock, and scrambled to find money to place a second print run — 7,500 more games, made possible with the generous help of friends and family (you know who you are!).
Right now, the new games are heading for Blackbox's warehouse in Indiana, where they'll all be distributed out to me and my awesome retailers — once again in stock everywhere in time for holiday shopping very soon.
Waiting is hard. It really is. The agony of patience and promises to people I've been building relationships with are so important to me, I've learned so much and will be carrying these lessons with me.
Next stop: The Peach Pack!
