Raising the original goal of $15,000.00 in a few short weeks was a daunting task. Having seen this, our crew, talent, and vendors, have generously agreed to work with us to lower their rates and therefore the overall budget. We are now able to relaunch this project at a lower amount. However, even if we hit our stated goal of $5,000, please be encouraged to keep backing the project. Every dollar that we raise is going into the production, and the executive producers are donating their time and efforts to the project, as well as some of our crew, on air talent, and the HG family.
The goal is to raise the funds to shoot a pilot for a potential TV series documenting the stories of women battling cancer and their journey through the Hello Gorgeous Makeover Experience. This is a show about faith, hope, and love, and it will celebrate these women and their lives, as well as the team of makeover artists who volunteer their time and efforts to make all this possible. Everyone's life has been touched by cancer, and this is just one significant way that the Hello Gorgeous team makes a difference each and every day.
We have an amazing team in place, some of whom you can see in our video. We are scheduled to film this in a few weeks at an unbelievable venue in South Bend, IN. We are finalizing the details, and wish to thank you in advance for your assistance in making this happen.
HELLO GORGEOUS the television show will follow the team at Hello Gorgeous!, which is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization that provides complimentary, professional makeovers and cosmetic education to all women battling all cancers. They create an experience for these women beginning with a nomination by family and friends. If chosen, their experience will include surprising her with flowers, chocolates and a big “Hello Gorgeous!” She is pampered with spa services such as manicure, pedicure, facial and seated massage, as well as instruction in new makeup application and hair care (or hair substitution) methods advantageous to her individual issues.

Risks and challenges
The production team has decades of experience in film, TV, and video. We brought together a great crew of on-air and behind the scenes talent experienced in filming live events, interviews and everything that goes into the documentary/pilot production process.
The biggest challenge we will face in this process is making sure to capture the key moments throughout the makeover experience. Due to the fact that this is not staged and we will just be documenting real life experiences, we will have one opportunity to get the shots we need during a number of key moments. In order to combat these challenges, we are shooting key moments with five to six additional cameras. We will comprehensively plan pre-production and coordinate with all of our crews to map out where they should be throughout the process. This of course is subject to change because it is live. But with an experienced director calling the show and camera placement as it happens we are well prepared to adapt should real life deviate from our plan.
Also, in working with people who are not accustomed to being in front of the camera, such as the makeover recipients, we will have to buffer in additional time to work with them prior to their interviews, to be shot on a follow up day after the makeover. Our host has a great deal of experience in this area, and that will be key in helping them to relax during the interview process.
Beyond that are the easily overcome challenges that that come with a traveling show, like getting everyone in town, transportation, etc.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
