About

we are excited to announce that we are in development of a new type of RPG. With Heaven's Descendants, we plan to merge many different genres so gamers can start enjoying an immerse range that will bring them into different worlds of games.

Remember the old style RPG's such as Azure Dreams, Suikoden, Legend of Dragoon and many others where immersing yourself into the story and feeling each character individually was more important than graphics?

Well in those days, gameplay is what kept people interested and make them talk and remember such games from decades ago as if they where the greatest games. Why you ask? Because at that time, the story and gameplay were the essence of making a dream. For example, if it where not true, some of these games would not be making a comeback on, for example, the PSN, but they are!

We at OmniSpel are here to make an rpg like the classics that strived us for more and more. An intense storyline intertwining over 5 games, each with their own unique story, but spreads over to the sequels and prequels.

Okay, it's time to get more into how this is going to work.

At this point in time, we have 8 staff and there is a development of 5 episodes with a possible 9 (story currently written up to a 7 part series with more to complete). The quick basics of the storyline that it is based on a country which the ruler has seperated it into sectors and it is your duty, as the rebellion to take back your country.

more on the game on hand though, each game with have a diverse amount of involvement with yourself and the outcome of the games. Throughout every game, depending on what paths you take and what decisions you make, you will unlock certain characters, but by your leadership and your choices alone, you determine who lives, who dies and what your outcome will be.

You will be given full control with hundred of characters (and we mean HUNDREDS!). You chose what you say to who, who you attack next, what you want to say in the meetings, what enemies you will try and lure onto your team, who falls in love with you, who you want to save, but be very cautious, the more personal you get with some staff may make others jealous and rebel against you, or become to personal and become over run and lose your leadership, maybe even an enemy you lured across changed his mind and decided to try and kill you in your sleep.

you choose what jobs each of your members have. Choose who guards your doors, who comes out and fights with you, who would be a good scout, or who seems to be losing their way. How you decide to win/escape is up to you, whether it be to join the enemy, obtain a pardon, fight your way through, the choices are there. All that, and more are your choices to make.

You may also decide to strategise your team when going to war; customise teams of 5 to scout or attack an area while you stick with your main mission. each attack will mean less security at your base camp while they are away.

Each game will have multiple possible endings but there will only be one true ending. Each game will have more involvement and better options the closer it becomes to the release date.

There is much more to add, but we will lay out a few details per game to hopefully give you more of an understanding

The structure of Episode One is that of a flying shooter game with a very in-depth story.

For Episode One, you as a hero will be already chosen but your team and settings on your path are completely customisable. Your relationship with all your members is vital to your success.

This game is based on strategy, tactics, and sometimes both. You must plan your strikes wisely

There are currently 10 possible outcomes and endings and each ending is determined by your choices and decisions within the game.

The structure of Episode Two is that of a racing game mixed with tactics and available paths by memory.

Episode Two will be based on the car/bike club scene with a much more customisable path choices and designs. Your Hero has minimal memory and will come with more choices before the game begins. Car choices and parts are customisable and so are the style of races you decide. At this point in time, Drag racing, Dodge racing & battle racing have been tested and implemented. Depending on which car club you join to which jobs and paths open up. *We have been discussing, not nothing solid at this point, of making the school part of the game online so gamers can use this to trade, help and learn from others. This is only a discussion that we have had and is not final at this point in time*

The structure of Episode Five is still up in the air and depending on the funding and also by gamers choice which is highly desired, at this point in time, we have all discussed 2 choices which we will put down here.

Discussion 1: MMORPG

Discussion 2: Episode One, Two, Three and Four all merged into one.

Layout for Discussion 1:

Everybody loves a good MMORPG but there are already so many out there and they all have so much similarities, so whats the point of making another mmorpg based in a random age of events? Our thoughts were just this, but so we thought to ourselves with what and how we could make this work in a completely different setting. This our is idea...

there will be 6 sanctions, one for each Episode and 2 mixes.

There will be no "classes" except for the sanctions you choose. BUT, the character you create you can base on a character from that specific episodes and you will gain their attributes and bonuses.

Sanctions will be limited to 40-50 castles(so only 40-50 guilds) with 1 superior castle. There will be smaller camps for other guilds. Each castle will have their own bonuses. Guilds can challenge to take over a castle.

There will be Sanction meetings as to where the leaders of each castle must meet and make decisions for their sanctions and vote. meetings will be held twice in a week to discuss matters, and then once the next week for voting. Discussions can include which other Sanction you want to ally with, which castle leader/guild is not pulling their weight and should be replaced by a lesser guild, overthrowing the upper guild, attack layouts, and more. The voting meeting is given a 24 hour opening period which then it shall be finalised. For certain outcomes, the Superior castle leader can equip 2 party members with immunity but 0 fighting level to communicate with another sanction to form either allies or enemies.

Not only will there be PVP battles, but also Sanction Battles. you will not be limited to only 1 opening spot on the battle map, but many positions so you can use strategy to win. In Sanction battles, it is allies versus enemies, so choosing allies is vastly important, especially with the ground and air concept.

Layout for Discussion 2:

This way would continue the story but be extremely open.

For starters, we would be implementing your choice of 1 of 4 heroes. Who you choose and which Episode you decide to go through and meet next would impact your path with the other Episodes. Your moves will decide on where your base will be located, on what type of mechanicals you will get your members to work on, and also help others Episodes that will be in the future. Your trust with the other leaders will be tested, you may also become the enemy and try and take over(that option will be definite in a future episode). With so many options already available from the previous Episodes, there can only be more more and even more! Maybe even little furry pets! We will also be introducing The Oracle in which i have mentioned in the previous Episodes.

Why are we asking for funding? We are a small team of 8 from Australia with the skills to make our dreams become a reality, but we are restricted on time, software and man(and woman) power.

We are here to create not only 1 or 2 games, but 5 and hopefully more.

We do have people lined up to help, but without funds, they are yet to be persuaded to what the public feel. Each game will require different game engines, different graphic stylists, an extended/alternate story editor and more developers.

So to get back on track, funding will be used to hire more staff to push the ETA to a much earlier time, enhance the graphics, add more choices and even add extras that we want to add but know will take a long time to implement. It will make us live up to our word and create the rest of the series and even our goal of releasing on as many platforms as possible.

There are extras we wish to add, but of course, everything extra costs time and money and at certain cash breaks, there are extras we are going to implement.

Looking at the ladder below, you may be thinking "OH WOW, THEY WANT 6 MILLION+?! HAHA GOOD LUCK!" and the answer to that is, no, we don't want 6 million, what we are wanting is to fund everything for the entire series and that will involve quite a substantial amount of money as it is not just one game we are developing. We want to give as much freedom to the player as possible and you may think some tasks are near impossible, but once again, the answer is, no. its just time and determination we require.

.

rewards you ask? We have broken up the rewards into a few categories. Firstly, for each game if it makes it's Cash Break, and Another if we can reach $250,000 (Episode Three Cash Break). If Episode Three Cash Break is reached, then both will categories will be included. If the Episode Five Cash Breaker is reached, there are two tables to show the outcome.

The concept of this series is based of many other role playing games including some you may or may not heard of. Suikoden for example, known to many as the best RPG of all time

http://kotaku.com/why-you-should-play-suikoden-ii-one-of-the-best-rpgs-e-1668857424

has the most editable/choice selection type of gameplay we have ever seen. it was great and will always be a game that everyone should play.

Final Fantasy... Do we need to say more? Each storyline emerges you into game, the longest RPG series of all time.

And many many others(here is a link for some other reviews on the games which have influenced the development for Heaven's Descendants).

http://www.hardcoregaming101.net/azuredreams/azuredreams.htm

http://au.ign.com/articles/2000/08/16/chrono-cross

http://tay.kinja.com/suikoden-ii-ruined-jrpgs-for-me-1705984295

Yoshitaka Murayama's work on the Suikoden series has been the most influence towards our goal, and so has Hironobu Sakaguchi's work on the Final Fantasy series, Xenogears, Saga Frontier and Vagrant story. His designing skills in Chrono Trigger shows a time when games where made with love and not for profits.

Risks and challenges

The only risks that can come up is the normal life problems, sickness, car crash, babies, etc. We have worked out the funding to the closest dollar to keep our release dates in tact. Things like higher rent, computer dying, software price change, hiring/firing staff are all just things that may occur, but don't want to see.
