The Joe Gransden 16 Piece Big Band is quickly becoming one of the busiest groups on the jazz scene. Originally formed in 2009 Joe and the guys have continued to build momentum and are performing numerous shows around the country. The bands new release entitled “Songs of Sinatra & Friends” has sold incredibly well and is getting radio air play all over the world! The reviews have been fantastic! The cd was recorded in Atlanta Georgia where the band holds a steady gig twice every single month. "The Big Band truly has its own sound and really swings!" Says Gransden, "I attribute that to the arrangements that were all written by jazz trombone great Wes Funderburk! It's such a pleasure to front a band of top musicians that can interpret Wes's arrangements perfectly! These guys are the best!”
Here's what people are saying about Joe and the Band:
SMOKEY ROBINSON says: "Joe has an innate ability to connect with an audience. His singing and trumpet playing are world class. Throw in his 16 piece big band and you have something very special!"
CLINT EASTWOOD: "Joe is a young man with and old soul and a classic voice. He is a great new talent with a wonderful sense of humor to boot. And don't forget, he plays a hell of a trumpet!"
MICHAEL FEINSTEIN: “I love listening to Joe perform because he has a marvelous connection with the music he plays and sings. His innate understanding of interpreting classics is something that you can't learn, it's natural. He is a great musician!”
KENNY G: "Joe Gransden is one of those rare musicians that has it all. He is an incredible instrumentalist with the technique of a virtuoso. His imagination let's him improvise as we'll as anyone on the planet and yet he retains a sense of melody that let's listeners of all musical tastes enjoy his wonderful playing. That should be enough, but for Joe, its just the beginning. Add to this a beautiful singing voice that let's him do all of the above with words!!! As I said, Joe really does have it all.
FREDDIE COLE: "Joe is an extraordinary musician and on top of that, a wonderful person and that ain't no lie. With Joe singin' and the band swingin' It's a Beautiful Thing!” For more information on Joe and the Band please visit: www.joegransden.com
BOB WEINER: “Joe is an extraordinary musician. His singing, reminiscent of great jazz and pop singers of the past, is a style entirely of his own. His trumpet playing creates jazz that is unique, creative and melodic.”

Risks and challenges
One of the biggest challenges when recording a band this size (beside the financial commitment) is the studio. We are pleased to announce that this project will take place in the brand new "Brighter Shade" recording studio just outside Atlanta, Ga! We are also extremely excited to have our good friend from the Zack Brown Band the talented John Driskell Hopkins as our co-producer along side the amazing Thom "TK" Kidd!! Both are award winning engineers!!
We can't wait for you to hear this new recording!
