Have a question?
I think I've lost the link to my digital download. Can I get it resent?
Yup. All posted on the same day. Go figure!
All posted at the same time? Ofcourse thats no bloody guarantee with postal services but just wondering.
@JHG: Thanks for letting me know - glad it's arrived!
@TheChosenOne: Glad the first has arrived - hopefully the others will follow shortly!
Book has arrived. :)
Awaiting the other (two I guess) packages.
All the "Cool Extras" arrived today. Looks great.
Even if the packages go out toward the end of this week (instead of the beginning), you should definitely have your package next week since you're in the US!
Cannot hardly wait to receive the actual book.. Wish will get it before Christmas..that will be a great gift for myself...
Congratulations on the delivery of the actual physical copies of the books. I'm sure that's a wonderful feeling. Even though I received the email containing the PDF copy of the book, I've been holding off waiting for the actual book itself. Bring in a few friends to have a mailing party! :-)
Good luck and get to work on your next book!
@Grant: Thank you so much! And thank you for the awesome Amazon review! :)
This was one of the best books I've read--it was amazing. I just finished today, and damn. If you ever plan on writing again, I want to know about! Awesome job!
@JHG: Thanks! As for a new Kickstarter. Oy. SO TIRED. :)
Finished. When does the next kickstarter kick off? :)
Thanks for the update!
And with great news, at that :D
Thanks for the update.
In the final stages of proofing and formatting the book - everyone should get epubs this week.
Stephanie is a bit behind on turning in her illustrations, but it's still looking like end of October for full reward packages (including the illustrated hardcover edition).
Trying my best to get it to you guys in the most professional way possible!
Please consider donating to my Kickstarter project,
@TheChosenOne: Yeah, but at $1.2m I probably could have hired an assistant to help! ;)
@Janette K. : Good to know!
Np, a bit of crossadvertising from relative Kickstarters and in moderation is fine.
It was actually thanks to @TheChosenOne that I even knew about this project. It was a post/comment from a different kickstarter that lead me here. Thank you!
Oh I don't know everything... *kicks pebble* I just backed a couple of projects and seen some good/bad things here and there.
And I've said it before you then have to be "glad" your Kickstarter didn´t turn out like http://kck.st/y6a9RV with 2171% funded and something like ~70 different reward pledges (at the end) where most pledges pledge people could add stuff on top for patches and extra coloring books and such.
@Vera: He knows EVERYTHING. :)
Also, you did great. A lot of it got very confusing, especially toward the end. And extra thanks for signing up just for The Girl Who Would Be King! :)
@TheChosenOne I should've asked for you as a guide before I started using this Kickstarter thing ;) I'm just very new to it, since I only made an account for this project, so I'm still trying to figure everything out and that didn't go as well as planned...
Tammy: I should also mention that the preview chapters have not been through a final edit - so some errors/typos may remain! Try to be forgiving. :)
You can read directly on my blog, or download a pdf of the first 24 chapters (they're on the short side - it comes out to about 90 manuscript pages) here:
One word of warning, I have not yet formatted the sample chapters to "look like a book" - so right now it looks like a manuscript instead of a novel. I will be updating that file this weekend though, if you want something that looks a bit more "book like"
i hope you enjoy!
Or rather, I've seen that there's a chapter floating around online somewhere...how do I find it?
How do I start reading the epub?
@Vera - I'm going to respond to you privately, okay?
@TheChosenOne - You should see if Kickstarter will hire you! ;)
Your pledge was still right though. :P You selected the 35 dollar REWARD but you need to change the amount aswell. Went you pledge up it gives an error (if the amount if higher) but for lower it doesn't ofcourse.
Never mind the previous comment, see it as a tiny bonus ;) It's fine. All I can say is that I can't wait to have the book in my hands so I can read it all.
Really looking forward to the book, it sounds great. But something went wrong with my pledge. At first I pledged for $50, but then I decided to go for $35 instead (seeing I would have to add $12 for international shipping), but now I saw that even though I've selected the $35 level, I still pledged $50 in total. Is there anything that can be fixed about that now the project has reached it's goal (which I'm very happy about by the way)?
@Janette K. - Thanks so much for your support - I'm excited too!
@TheChosenOne: Thanks for all your support and enthusiasm throughout the campaign!
I'm looking forward to reading it at all. :)
Soo glad the illustrations made it to the HC version. I am really looking forward to reading the rest. Congrats Kelly!
@eponine72: Well there will be a limited number of the hardcovers for sale through my website if you find yourself with a few extra dollars at some point later on! And thanks for the support!
As much as I would love to get the hardback with the artwork, I just can't afford it. I'm glad that we were able to reach the stretch goal though for those that will be getting the hardback.
Yay! I kept forgetting to come back and DO this the last few days, but I remembered tonight, and it's still here! Woot!
Thanks so much Amber! I really appreciate it! I hope the story delivers for you - I've tried my absolute best! :)
Sooooo glad I could get a hardcover. I held out till I got paid 51 minutes ago and double checked my budget. Looking forward to reading this one!
Thanks so much - clearly it worked! :)
I'm trying my best to spread the word about your book so that the stretch goal is reached, I know we can do it!
Yes, the epubs will DEFINITELY go out before the print editions, and as soon as possible. The biggest delay will likely be me checking the MS for typos and formatting errors, and getting a 100th set of eyes on it to double check me) but I expect to have the epubs out to you guys in August. Print copies to follow in September/October depending on how long it takes Stephanie to finish the new art.
Thanks Adam for the support - and the compliment!
Is the digital version of the book going to be available before the print versions? I've been reading the story on your website... and I'm ready to get back to it!
We totally need a 27.5k stretchgoal! Prettier paper or so!
Fantastic! :-) Yep, getting both posters. :-) And have just followed you on twitter. :-)
Thanks so much. And YES
You can find me on twitter here: @79semifinalist
PS. Just tweeted about this. Hope it helps! Do you have a twitter account that I can follow?
@Felomena: Since you are already getting a poster (right? I don't have my spreadsheet in front of me) then I think I can just ship all prints together in a tube. So you're probably fine if you've already got the tube shipping and the regular package shipping included :)
