Some fun news to share with your all today.
We would love your continued help in making these rules the best they can be. To those who wish, please give the rules a read. What feedback are we looking for specifically?
Clarity - First and foremost, are the rules understandable? Do they do a good job of teaching the game? Are the examples clear? What do you like about the rules? What could be better?
Consistency - Is the terminology consistent. For example, Is the map called a game board in one place and a map board in another? Is capitalization consistent (We already know we have some more work to do on this point).
Proofreading - Any and all errors; grammar, spelling, punctuation, etc.
Other - Anything else that you would like us to know. Please tell us things that you noticed that we may not have thought about.
One of our goals was that players would only need a single page reference sheet to play the AI during a game of Hellenica. We feel that this mission is accomplished. This allowed us to use the other side of the sheet as a reference for the Mythological Creatures in the game. We would like your feedback on the reference sheets as well. NOTE: These are not player-aids. We are planning on having some simple card-sized player aids in the game and are reviewing options for that now.
We have also published the FIRST DRAFT of the co-op Scenario rules. As unlocked during the campaign, the game with ship with co-op rules that allow players to play as a team against the game system. The rules will be in the form of a Peloponnesian War scenario based on the epic war between Athens and Sparta.
But that is not all... Scott had informally stated his desire to try to come up with a template to allow for YOU to create your own scenarios. We are proud to say that we will be publishing a scenario template in PDF format on Boardgamegeek so anyone who wants to do so can create, upload, and share their own scenarios. We are really excited about this concept as it gives Hellenica near infinite extendability!
Please help us make the scenario template special by giving it a look and let us know what you think. We are specifically looking for feedback on the layout and format. Is this something you could see yourself using in your own game play?
Please send any feedback on these rules to HellenicaRules@gmail.com. This inbox is for feedback specifically about the rules, reference sheets, and scenario template. We cannot guarantee that other types of emails sent to this address will receive a response.
Thank you for being the best backers on the globe!
