Hellenica Post campaign Update #1
Just a quick update to let you know what we are up on Hellenica.
We are still working on quotes with our factory (for things like neoprene mats and the Mythic Expansion) and have started prepping some files. We are also still waiting on shipping quotes before we open our pledge manager so hang in there - we know many of you have expressed interest in upgrading and we will offer what we can as soon as we have enough info to open up a proper PM.
Scott has been heads down working on some of the unlocked content from the campaign. I seriously think the man does not sleep. Here are a few highlights for our backers:
First, Scott continues to refine how the AI plays in the game to ensure that it is as organic as possible. No specific news to share yet, but expect a few tweaks that will really make your AI and solo games challenging, fun, and easy for you.
Explorable Map Rules:
Playtesting continues on the exploration rules. One of the things that is unique about Hellenica is that the rules need to be balanced and tested across multiple paths that often do not exist in other games. For example, the rules need to work in games with up to 7 human players, a mix of humans and AI players, and solo games with only one human and a slew of AI players. This equates to detailed playtesting over and over and over again to ensure a solid experience no matter the makeup of players in the game.
Scott is also working on the foundation of the scenario-based co-op rules. What does that mean, you ask? It means that the official co-op rules will be based on a specific scenario from history like the Peloponnesian War. By making this scenario-based, we can announce something really, really exciting! Scott is working on these rules as a template that can be used by fans to design their own scenarios. Want to refight Xerxes Persian invasion of Greece or Phillip of Macedon's conquest? You can create it! These scenarios could then be published, allowing for all owners of Hellenica to have an ever expanding experience with the game. Stay tuned on this one as it is in its early stages. We will announce more as development warrants.
Thanks all for your support of the game. We are hard at work to make sure we exceed your expectations!
