 Mercury Protocol How to Play Video!

Helionox is a movement based deck building card game that offers variable unique player powers, worker placement options (in the form of mobile space crafts), and now, with the addition of Mercury Protocol, an interplanetary pick up and delivery system!

The Mercury Protocol Expansion is completely integrated with the original core set (The Last Sunset). It will bring you more reasons to travel the solar system, picking fights with nasty events, and delivering much needed cargo to the Interworlds! It offers several new card types including four unique ships each with different abilities.

Helionox Mercury Protocol

The Helionox is a solar event that takes place over the course of thousands of years. As the sun slowly dies, the Interworlds (the planets within our solar system) begin to feel the negative effects. Cold snaps and solar flares become more and more common which causes all manners of civil unrest. One of the greatest catastrophes thus far is the ruin of Mercury, a once colonized settlement of the Interworlds. Lashed by solar flares, Mercury burnt to an orbiting husk in a matter of hours. Most of Mercury's inhabitants were unable to escape the devastation.

Mercury itself began as a penal colony, run by a group of fringe scientists. Its close proximity to the sun allowed for experimentation that would have been impossible anywhere else. As the generations passed, people born on Mercury developed strange genetic abilities as a result of these experiments. These abilities manifested as both physical and mental enhancements.

As the refugees from the Mercurian catastrophe spread out across the solar system, the Interworlds governments were faced with serious political questions. Could they bring these strange, other worldly beings into their worlds - into their communities? These questions eventually led to the Mercury Protocol - a strict policy banning Mercurian tech. For many Mercurians, however, their tech was integrated into their genetic make up. In some cases it even kept them alive.

With the Mercury Protocol expansion we hope to further develop the world of Helionox, exploring many new characters and new tech that survived the catastrophe on Mercury and the political dilemma it created for the Interworlds.

How To Play

Players compete for “Influence” by overcoming both social and stellar events, traveling to different locations around the solar system to establish embassies and gain special abilities, and acquiring powerful technologies and operatives from an abundant marketplace.

On their turn, players purchase cards from the market with “Credits” and integrate these cards into their deck for use later in the game. Players can also choose to overcome one or more of the disastrous events spreading across the colonies by using “Defense”. Both Defense and Credits are gained by playing cards or using Location and Architect abilities. Players continue building increasingly powerful combinations to acquire Influence points on subsequent turns. But time is limited!

Once the last card of the “event deck” is played, the game is over. The player with the most influence at the end wins.

All shipping prices are listed in their respective pledge levels to the right.

NOTE: We do not ship to Brazil, Russia, Mexico, or the Middle East due to high postage prices, and lost parcels. If you live in one of these areas, we recommend you use a USA address and have the game forwarded to you via a postage forwarding company.

We are working with several fulfillment centers all over the world to ensure a fast, and affordable delivery. We try hard to offer the best solutions for everyone, but shipping rates continue to rise.

PLEASE NOTE: We do not damage your games during shipping, shipping carriers sometimes have that damage in transit. We do not charge high rates for shipping, Shipping Carriers pass those fees along to us. We subsidize all shipping costs from our profits, because it is important to us to help spread the word about our project.

Mr. B. Games - a small publishing company started by Sean Brown in 2005 to publish his own game designs. After a few small card games (Teraforming, Stoplights), Mr. B. Games went on hiatus from publishing from 2009 - 2013 but has resumed publishing once again, and is super excited at the chance to a new Expansion to the Helionox Universe!

Return Policy

If for any reason, you find that after the Kickstarter has ended, you need to cancel, we will work with you to best make that happen.

If you cancel within 45 days of the end of the Kickstarter, we are able to do a complete refund via the Kickstarter payments system (including KS fees!)

After 45 days and up until the month before we ship the rewards, we are able to do a 90% refund (less Kickstarter and CC processing fees) via paypal.

For a refund request after shipping addresses have locked (aprox. 3 weeks before shipping), we ask you email us at mrbgames.cs (at) gmail.com and we will try to work with you for a partial refund if possible, but you will be responsible for return shipping.

If for any reason you feel you have a missing item or damaged item, please email us at mrbgames.cs (at) gmail.com with photos of damage, and we will work to replace the missing or damaged items ASAP.

Surveys not filled in after 4 months of delivery or missing reward requests after 4 months of shipment will be treated as a no reward pledge. Please help us get you your rewards by emailing us and filling in your survey!

Risks and challenges

With every project there are risks, but we hope that our past track record in publishing, as well as Sean's design and development work at his previous publishing job will put everyone's minds at ease. Mr. B. Games has delivered on 7 Kickstarter projects in 2014 and 2015 with only 3 being late by 1 month each, 1 on time and 3 delivered early! We are not new to the industry and have been making games in some capacity since 2005. With our previous experiences we can pool from the 10+ years of lessons (both good and bad) to ensure a smooth, and accurate production and delivery.
