This project will only be funded if it reaches its goal by Fri, November 23 2018 8:17 PM UTC +00:00.
In the bright new dawn of the far future humanity has returned to Gaia under the watchful eye of the Titans. The Titans are vast and powerful Artificial Intelligences (AIs), re-purposed from colony ships, that regard humans under their protection not unlike pets. As human cities have been re-established and expanded, border disputes have erupted, and the Titans walk out to settle their urban zoning disputes with violence before cooler heads prevail.
Each player wants to score the most victory points, by claiming the board as their own by placing their own buildings, demolishing their opponents' placed buildings, defending their Titan and buildings, and wrecking their opponent's Titan before the ceasefire deadline.
Players start the game with a blank board. As the game goes on players use their Titan to add terrain to the board. Terrain scores victory points as well as helping to hide Titans from each other, and block their paths of movement. The game is about building and protecting your Titan's city rather than sacrificing it. But Titans can also smash buildings and each other...
Game Features: Building Strategies
Titanomachina begins before the first turn, when players construct Titans by assembling decks of System & Crew cards (arranging the corresponding tokens on their Titan dashboards), and determining their Titan's initiative. Players also choose the buildings they'll be able to place on the board. Buildings are modular, and you can combine pieces to make Small, Medium, and Large buidings. All of these are bought from a pool of Cost points, so players have lots of choice about what strategy they want to try. Each choice helps to build a titanic machine of strategy!
Game Features: Strategic Planning
Each Titan has a deck of 22 cards that define what they can do. Cards have a charge, indicating how many other cards need to be discarded to play that card. Each round is divided into turns where players get to either play a card from their hand, in initiative order, or pass. Once all cards are played, players go again through the initiative order again resolving the effect of cards that were played. Played or discarded cards are collected to the bottom of the deck, in the order of the player's choosing, and the player charges their Titan by drawing 5 cards to their hand. Players want to set up their decks so that they draw the right cards at the right time!
Game Features: Taking the Initiative
Titans have an Initiative score that controls the order of play. Players take turns each round in the order of highest initiative to lowest. This initiative score can change though, leading to players jostling for the best order of play. Sometimes the first shot is better than the best shot!
Game Features: Tactical Decisions
Cards are resolved in Initiative order, but there's some leeway in the card played and what it does. A player may play a weapon system card to attack, for instance, but declares the target during resolution. An opponent may expect an attack on a nearby building, only to find their Titan taking the hit instead; a potential target may move out of range, or duck behind a building.

Here's some social goals we'd love to hit, getting the word out and developing a community!
Titanomachina is scheduled for production in Fall 2018 & Winter 2019. Please note that the published product may have differences regarding sizes, quantities, colours and layout because of production limitations and/or adjustments. This includes any type of the game's components (e.g. cards, miniatures, boards, boxes etc). Kickstarter Rewards: Backers of USD$60 (+shipping) or more will receive all stretch goals generated from this campaign. The game itself and any stretch goals will be available in the future as separate products from Octopodi Games. Here is a sample of our miniatures, 3D-Printed, so that you can see their detail level. They're about 102.4mm tall.
We will charge shipping after the Kickstarter concludes based on the actual costs incurred to ship. We will collect this via our pledge manager after the campaign ends. Shipping costs vary widely based on where you will receive your reward. Unfortunately, a one-size-fits-all price isn't manageable. We will pay to ship your rewards to our international distribution centers. Based on your delivery address, we will either ship to you from our hub in the UK, Germany, China, Canada, or the USA.
The following is a list of rough estimates for shipping of the Ice Warrior pledge. Please keep in mind that these are just estimates, and costs may rise based on weight increases from unlocked stretch goals and any optional add-ons you choose. All prices are listed in US dollars. Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico and other remote states are not part of the "US" category. They are included in the "Rest of the world" one.

We will ask you to specify the exact pick up location during the survey at the end of the campaign.
I'm Robert Wood, a.k.a "Octopodi Games," and I've been working on Titanomachina since I went back to school to become a Technical Writer in 2010. No man is an island, however, and I've had the opportunity to partner with a variety of great businesses to bring Titanomachina to market.
Risks and challenges
PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY BEFORE PLEDGING TO THIS CAMPAIGN.
Even though we do our best to ensure a quality product and a timely production, there is always the risk of delays. Supplier shortage, holiday traffic and weather conditions are just a few of the reasons a production could be delayed. Octopodi Games should not be held responsible for delays caused by third parties. In addition, some of the items shown might differ from the final product due to supplier/manufacturer error.
When dealing with a large number of orders, there is always a chance that errors will occur. If, after you receive your order, you find that there are items missing or they are damaged, please contact us at octopodigames [at] gmail.com. We will send you the missing items as soon as possible.
If your package arrives damaged, please take a few photos of all damaged items and email them to us at octopodigames [at] gmail.com. We will send you replacements for the damaged items as soon as possible. The games shipped through this campaign will be sent out in a larger and stronger package, which will better protect the contents against damage.
Our current estimation for delivery is April 2019. We want your orders to be delivered on time as much as you do; however, history has shown that despite the best laid plans there is always a chance of delay.
If a package is not delivered due to a backer's fault (wrong address given, backer didn't claim the delivered package from their post office, you didn't complete the survey and/or pledge manager on time etc), the backer may be requested to pay additional shipping fees for the item to be sent out again.
When the campaign is over, you will be requested to complete a pledge manager through which you can let us know which items you ordered, as well as where you would like us to ship your order. Keep in mind that your order may be shipped sooner or later than the estimated date. Please give us an address that will surely not change (If for example you think that you may be moving to a new house around August, please give us the address of a friend or relative to ensure a successful delivery).
Please read the Shipping section above.
Please note that your order may be delivered in multiple packages. This is done due to weight limitations for group shipments. Even though the items you ordered will be shipped at the same time, there is always a chance they will arrive to you several days apart. This may occur due to each country's postal service sort-and-dispatch system.
BY PLACING A PLEDGE ON THIS CAMPAIGN, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU HAVE READ, UNDERSTAND AND ACCEPT THE RISKS & CHALLENGES STATED IN THIS SECTION.
Thank you very much!
