This is a Kickstarter for The Genx Cardtroller - A patented, high quality, solid bodied, Bluetooth game controller that is the size of a credit card. It has 12 buttons conveniently arranged in multisystem configuration including a directional pad, 5 buttons + start button and 2 shoulder buttons. Popular systems include button configurations to accommodate Atari, Nintendo , Super Nintendo, Sega genesis, Gameboy/Advance/color, and just about any game that can accept a controller. The on board memory storage functions like a wireless Bluetooth storage interface containing software like emulators, roms, games or other applications while also allowing the user to upload their own files. This can allow software producers to promote their software by including a controller with it. This is especially important in the quickly evolving software market since, Who would go to a store to buy software you can get online for cheaper? It allows the developers to add a physical material value to their product.
I've designed a printer that carefully melts the circuit traces straight onto a board thinner than a sheet of paper. This in combination with the new Lithium-polymer battery allow me to create a method economically enough to have the circuit and mechanics placed within a material its self - completely ridding the need for bulky screws, pesky snap technology, or stuff thats been "glued" together. The final product will be a single, solid, device with no seams at all. This isn't just a video game controller, its an entirely new technology!
This product would retail for $15-$25 It would come pre-packaged with approved emulators and roms to get ones collection started, and a development kit for those that wished to design themselves! For the developers out there we will have service to offer bulk production and shipping services by uploading your software and manufacturing them with your custom front surface logo - exponentially lowering costs.
Risks and challenges
Typically with a project like this, One could face a huge amount of problems. From developing it, to writing the software, then engineering a device that could be produced economically, and then finally designing a manufacturing process to handle it all. Fortunately for me, my career/business/and passion have been doing all of that for the last 10 years. Educated in computer electronics and engineering technologies, a business structured on research and development - making a project like this a reality is no stranger to me.
