GOAL is to pitch this television sitcom to network executives and produce a pilot.
Straitjacket” is an animated television sitcom containing satiric surreal humor
lampooning societal topics similar to “Simpsons” or “South Park”,
directed at young adults. It’s about a young female prankster who lands in an insane
asylum among a collection of flawed miscreants where through their powers of
imagination, rational behavior and reality are twisted with new definition.
Created by Leo Procopio and Susan
Lee from STLEO Entertainment, it is currently being produced as a web series in
the style of a comic strip. The brief episodes of the web series can be viewed
on the website Take a look at the website. The webisodes will introduce you to the characters, show concept and animation technique. ----> One of the awards is to have your music played in an episode giving you a screen credit as well. Our intentions for part of this project is to showcase "unsigned artists" whether it be a rapper, singer, or band and have their music weaved within the story getting exposure that they need.
THE SHOW CONCEPT
Kibbe, aka Emmalynne
Donnelly, gets along with no one. Her cynical, disrespect is a result of
watching too many television commercials and breaking news stories. As Kibbe
would say “I’m the kinda woman people cross the street to avoid.” Her boyfriend drops her
on Facebook for the world to witness and a ludicrous TV commercial following a hideous
news story cause her to finally snap. It’s at this point she makes the decision
to never speak out loud again and becomes mute. After loading a saturator pump
water gun with food leftovers she charges off to Beverly Hills in her pink robe
and slippers attacking anyone she considers a phony, which is everyone to her. She
ends up in jail booked as Jane Doe however the cops nickname her Kibbe after
their take-out lunch.
Kibbe is committed to Empyrean Estates, a dark odious insane asylum, in the Hollywood
Hills somewhere, and the hallucinogenic adventures begin. A handful of insane
characters and the Empyrean Estates staff (also crazy) give rational behavior
and reality new definition.
Jimi Jihad is an
oversexed, narcissistic self-proclaimed Indonesian love god. As Jimi would say,
“I’m the kinda guy you don’t take home to Mama. I’ve got that disease that makes
me wake up drunk in other people’s yards.”
Lasheequa, a New Orleans voodoo
Queen with mystical powers asks the question, “Where would you like it to
hurt?” while sticking pins into a voodoo doll of your likeness.
And Duker, an
underachieving, overly tattooed, semi-musician asks Nike to “Just do it 4 me.”
Welcome to Empyrean Estates!
“My Straitjacket” offers boundless avenues for twisting
reality and rational behavior as seen through the eyes, actions and thoughts of
these pop-art characters. After all, don’t we all wear a straitjacket in

GOING TO BE USED FOR?
completed the script for a half-hour TV pilot and are ready to move forward. So pass it on!
We have the
opportunity to pitch “My Straitjacket” to studio and television executives in
Los Angeles this June. We need financing to prepare, acquire legal
representation and meet with executives. We also don’t want to lose creative
control of the project so would like to partially finance the pilot ourselves
via Kickstarter. Please help us with this opportunity by donating and you will
receive a reward for your pledge. Consider your pledge as placing a pre-order
for the future if our pilot is produced and the series picked-up for
If we don't reach our goal in the time allotted, we don't get anything.
Donors pledge the amounts, but don't actually pay anything until the goal
is reached and the funding deadline has passed. Please spread the word.
Everything helps! When we meet our goal we will be on our way to pitching
and creating and sending reward merchandise.
