Stained with blood for those who are lost
On Monday, Saint Monday
Dear Friends & Music Fans,
I’m excited to announce that I’ve recently finished recording my new album, Saint Monday. What began as an experiment, collaborating with novelist Jim Lewis, paid off in unexpected ways, creating a brand new sound for me; something louder, more raw, and maybe a little strange, and I have to say, I love it.
I wish I could get Saint Monday out to you right now, but a few hurdles remain. The recording must be mastered, which involves hiring a music engineer with a lot of fancy equipment to make the recording sound, well... like a record. Artists and photographers will work their magic to create alluring packaging. CDs must be manufactured, and a publicist will place the album into the hands of those wonderful DJs who still play independent music. Finally, the wonderful musicians who graciously provided their services for free until I could get funding, need to be paid. All of this requires funding.
Ever since making my first CD, Love & Trust, in the early nineties, I have a found a generous and supportive music community that is always willing to lend a hand. Now I’m inviting you to be a part of this wonderful music community by contributing to the Saint Monday project through kickstarter.com.
It’s pretty easy to make a contribution, and for as little as $15, you can receive some cool perks along with a copy of the recording. I will even cook an Italian dinner for you and your friends! (See www.austinpersonalchef.net.)
Thanks so much for all your support in the past and I look forward to catching up in a global village near you soon, with new albums in tow!
