PYTHON CORD STORY
The Python Cord story begins the same as many products do, with a problem to solve at it's core. I purchased my first Macbook Pro in 2011 and was excited to put it to work. But, after only a few months the fun came to a screeching halt. The original MagSafe charger cord that came with my Mac had unexpectedly broken. Thinking it was an isolated issue, I quickly went out and bought a replacement for $80. After my third replacement in the first year, I realized my experience was not unique. I began researching the issue and found that I was among thousands of frustrated Mac users that were ranting on blogs, forums, YouTube and even Apple's website about the same issue. At wits end, I started designing a product that would solve the problem.
WHY CORDS BREAK
Your Mac, PC or Tablet cord is constantly under stress as it travels between your office, favorite coffee shop, the classroom and home. The most common stress points are where the soft rubber cord attaches to the hard plastic shell of the power supply. The Python Cords' patent pending design fortifies the area around these stress points, effectively preventing cord breaks from occurring.
Because genuine Mac and PC charger replacements range from $70-100, Python Cords are an inexpensive preventative tool. But like any preventative measure, it only works if you take advantage of it before it's too late. In this case, before your cord breaks and you're scrambling to buy another one so life can go on.
HOW PYTHON CORDS PROTECT
Python Cords work by displacing cord stress over a greater distance. Constructed from a special elastomer, the cord is extremely durable and elastic, with the ability to stretch many times its dormant state without tearing. This makes it the ideal material to absorb stress and allows Python Cords to fit all Mac chargers as well as most PC and Tablet chargers on the market today.
After completing the first iteration of the Python Cord, we launched a Kickstarter campaign to bring it to life, successfully raising twice the funding goal. Although, like any new product there was room for improvements. This project is a synergy of feedback from our beloved KS Backers and input from numerous industrial, mechanical and materials engineers.
Our mission with the Python Cord was to create an all encompassing cord protection system that also offered some valuable features its predecessor did not. This new Python Cord was the culmination of countless design improvements, refinements, testing and prototypes.
Our hope is that the countless hours we have spent designing Python Cords will save you from the same frustrations we experienced in the past. WHY WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT
Quality molds and manufacturer MOQ's are costly and this is what we are raising funds for. The manufacturing partner we have chosen for Python Cords has extensive experience producing these types of products. They have already inspected and approved our model and are ready to begin production as soon as funds are raised. When the campaign is finished we will have the molds produced right away. After the molds are made, we will receive finished samples to inspect and test. Once samples are approved, the manufacturing phase can begin. The Python Cords will then be shipped to our location. Rewards will be shipped to backers via USPS and should arrive within 2-15 days depending on backer location. Tracking numbers will be provided and should work wherever USPS tracking is supported.

Risks and challenges
There are no significant challenges that we foresee during the Python Cords project. The strategies we learned from our previous Kickstarter project will help us simplify and expedite the production and fulfillment process for this project. Our model has been inspected and approved by our manufacturing partner and is ready for production. Our production timeline has been established (see timeline above) and we are eager to get Python Cords into the hands of our Backers.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
After the campaign ends, we will provide backers with the option to add additional Python Cords. Kickstarter doesn't permit projects from the Design or Hardware categories to offer multiple rewards during campaigns.
