(A video for this project should be posted soon!!!!)
We are looking to raise a minimum of $30,000 to cover the commission fees for having this piece created. Any money raised above $30,000 will be applied fully and directly to the world premiere production at The Spirit of Broadway Theater in Norwich, CT.
This production will run every year, as part of our 6 show, year-long season. In addition, this production is the launching pad for a week-long cultural tourism event featuring Period Balls, Lectures, Author Discussion, Historical Re-enactments, Concerts, High-teas and even a street festival, all of which are being created to showcase the rich Revolutionary War history that is associated with Norwich, with a focus on Benedict Arnold. This production is only the beginning of a much larger - and hopefully, NATIONAL - tourism project, designed to revitalize, energize and engage not only the Norwich community but all lovers of history, theater and travel.
Norwich, CT is the birthplace of Benedict Arnold. His family is buried here. As the only professional theater in the city and in an honest and deliberate effort to encourage this city to reconnect with it's revolutionary history - and there is much of it - we have commissioned three established writers to create this musical. The musical will be part of our 6 show season, every year in an additional effort to increase tourism to the region. Norwich owns Benedict Arnold...it's time for us to discover the man.
The Spirit of Broadway Theater is now in our 16th season and are internationally recognized for our full production new musicals. Over the past 16 years we have worked with the vanguard of new and established musical theater writers to bring their shows to life. Many of our productions have gone on to productions in other theaters, off-Broadway or made it into publication. We work with cutting edge designers and the best and brightest in talent: both onstage and behind the scenes.
BENEDICT ARNOLD is written by, Richard Vetere, Book; Jeffrey Lodin, Music; and William Squier, Lyrics.
The production features Set Design by Mike Billings, Lighting Design by Anne Sitzman, Musical Direction by Dan Brandl. Costume Design and Direction by Brett A. Bernardini.

Risks and challenges
This is a world premiere musical...it has never been seen before. The challenge will be to stand up a brand new musical within the allotted time frame. Because of the financial challenges we have had in fund raising, the earlier planned workshops - where many problems are initially addressed - did not happen We will be staging and building a world premiere musical at the same time as were "finishing" the show. Thankfully, this is nothing new to us at The Spirit of Broadway Theater and we are eager and excited to get to work!!!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
