ECHOFLUXX 13: Prague Festival of New Media, Art and Music
This years performers to Echofluxx 13 include Michael Schumacher (New York); Martin Blažíček and Michal Zbořil (Prague); Brigid Burke (Melbourne, Australia); Michal Cáb (Prague); Johanna Adamczewska (Poznan); Jolana Havelková (Kolín) and Lucie Vítkova (Brno); Norbert Möslang (St. Gallen, Switzerland); Kuntz Zirkus (Prague); Michal Cimala (Prague); David Means (Minneapolis) and otheres. Echofluxx 13 is produced gratis by Efemera of Prague—a small group of dedicated international artists. The festival is further made possible by in-kind contributions of audio and video equipment from Prague art & music schools, local businesses, individual artists and art organizations. When artists arrive in Prague, they are housed in volunteer homes. There is a open bar for the festival which raises some money. But Efemera is mostly on its own to produce a festival which represents the current state of new media, music and art internationally in a truly great cities—and we need your help. Unlike most other edgy festivals in Europe, we pay our performers with the money we raise through Kickstarter simply divided between the presenters. So, please, please, triple please, give a little for a lot of good karma for everyone!
Risks and challenges
The Echofluxx 11, and Echofluxx 12 festivals were very successful even if produced with lots of donated hours, hard work and little money. We rely on travel grants to artists, mutual trust, word of mouth, in-kind contributions and a strongly held commitment to experimental artists who are taking extraordinary aesthetic risks.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
