Some call it a dysfunctional rock opera with no sheet music. Others say it's an Orwellian tale of Lebowskiesque proportions.
They say goals are dreams with deadlines.
Many moons ago I had come up with the idea for BLATANT: The Declassified Dogman Files, but I had put it aside when reality set in and there was no time to sit around drawing comics. It always, however, remained an ongoing story in my head as the years passed. Then along came this opportunity to spread the word and expose the world of BLATANT to others who would dig the concept. Stoked, I picked up pen and paper began to draw and write again... Now I'm on a mission to resurrect a part of myself that I had left for dead all these years.
I am going to produce, Shaking Hands with Fate - the first installment of the BLATANT graphic novel series.
It's an epic tale of greed, loyalty, betrayal, redemption, evil corporate big shots, mad scientists, cloning experiments gone bad and Rock and Roll.
I'm asking all of you to ride shotgun as we embark on this journey. I need to raise these funds so that I can cover the costs to write, draw, print and produce this comic book exactly as I had seen it in my head for half my life. Thanks in advance for rolling with me and helping BLATANT: The Declassified Dogman Files see the light of day.
What has been a dream, will now become a reality.

New York City 1995. The stench of coffee, codeine and Cobain fills the air. Big Shot, an evil record company executive is seeking music world domination. But he's not doing it the old fashioned way. He hooked up with a mad scientist/professor and is planning to build the perfect rock star. By injecting elements of earlier famous rockstars and cloning specimens, they plan to create an army of multi platinum selling music superstars. They began by heading upstate one night and kidnapping a bunch of pigs and cows from a farm. The perfect subjects to experiment on. Nobody would notice a few animals missing and they could experiment on them until they had perfected the plan. They set up a lab and began the experiments...
BLATANT: The Declassified Dogman Files story begins in the early 90's and shifts between that era and the not too distant future - 2015, when the US has become a totalitarian state and Big Brother is watching your every move. On the way, experiments go bad, mutated animals escape and many different story lines emerge. The main character is a dude named Dogman who was one of earliest cloning experiments and was infused with all kinds of Kurt Cobain-like attributes. He was brought to New York City before his transformation was completed to live with Big Shot. The record exec took a liking to him and was grooming him to be the next rock god. Dogman wasn't feeling it and escaped - betraying the most powerful man in the city. Not cool. There is also a band of pigs who go by the name of Plaintiff, who were brought to New York as the first successful experiment. Once inside Big Shot's office they were informed they were no longer Plaintiff, but were now A Multitude of Sins and were given face paint, stage costumes and someone else's music to perform. This did not sit well with the rockers so they decided to bail. They jumped out the 30th floor penthouse office of Big Records and have been on the run ever since, playing gigs, trying to figure out how to post an event on Facebook, and looking to stay one step ahead of Big Shot and his henchmen.
20 years, 22 million dollars, and thousands of bungled cloning experiments later it's the year 2015 and Big Shot finally scores with the rap band Skoolyard Bulliez who are now at the top of the charts with their hit single "Steal Yo Lunch".
Skoolyard Bulliez are the first successful cloning experiment . Big Shot -after decades of wallowing in the bowels of the music biz, is now back on top. At the same time Plaintiff have joined together with Dogman and are becoming a popular underground band about to break out. Big Shot has vowed revenge and will never rest until he finds and destroys those who betrayed him.

The BLATANT Army has been assembled. I guess I'm the general of our ragtag ne'er-do-well bunch and I don't take that honor lightly. After years of doing the 9 to 5 thing, I'm going to be the guy that followed through on a dream I've had since I was a kid. I'm going to produce a graphic novel. Its going to be epic, awesome and scary and fun and a whole bunch of things at the same time. I set up a timeframe for when this needs to be written, drawn, printed and shipped. I've got the writers in place and I've got a reputable printing house who's main focus is comic books. I'm stoked and ready to rock and roll. What could possibly go wrong? (said the captain of the Titanic).
Everyone who is involved in getting this project off the ground is part of one big family. As we sit in this foxhole, I'm couldn't be happier that you got my back and I got yours . If an issue arises concerning timeframe or printing I will let everyone know what the issue is and how I am planning to correct it. I have already planned for the unforeseen and have 2 other print houses waiting in the wings should anything become amiss. Onward!
