Drive Fighter is a two-player Trading Card Game with a variety of new and interesting mechanics.
It has a different resource mechanic that makes the game flow faster.
The games' art style is unique by featuring a colored pencil design allowing players to connect with the creatures.
The art style was specifically chosen to give the players a child-like sense of imagination that contrasts the serious tone of the battles.
The Generals and Factions:
The factions are the bulk of the games design. Comprising of various creatures and themes. Each faction has access to a unique "Drive" ability that changes how they interact. Each is commanded by a General and they are the ones that define the individual faction.
The first 3 Generals to be discovered are Kivaryu, Arkos, and Volganar who command the Dragon, Knight, and Wizard factions respectively.
Kivaryu is the Dragon Lord General and commands the Dragon faction. A powerful dragon whose strength and might is known throughout the land. The philosophy of the dragon faction is kill or be killed. Kivaryu gave his followers the ability to perform Cross Drives. This ability allows members to absorb and fuse with others, gaining power or weapons made from the other creature.
Arkos is the Knight Army General and leads the Knight faction into battle. A noble leader, his followers gained special abilities when they fight together dubbed Unity Drive. Arkos believed in the power of bonds and the strength in numbers.
Volganar is the Ancient Wizard General and guides the members of the Wizard faction. A wise master of magic, he teaches those in his command the ways of internal magic which he dubbed Charge Drive. This technique allowed talented magic users to internally harness magical abilities.
In Drive Fighter, players have a 50 card deck containing unique characters. There are 3 types of cards used in the game. Units, Strike cards, and Critical cards.
Units are your decks powerful creatures. There are two types. General and Non-general. You can only have one general in your deck. It acts as your life and power source. The general cannot be destroyed. However, every time it loses in battle, it loses fortitude (health). If it reaches zero you lose. Non-general units can be deployed onto the field to help the player fight. However, they each have various costs.
Strike cards are the powerful spells and commands each faction can use.
Critical cards are powerful cards that alter the course of the game and will always be helpful.
The game will take about 30 minutes for one round.
Each starter deck will include:
• 50-card deck
• 1 Rulebook.
The first version includes 3 factions comprised of Dragons, Knights, and Wizards.
We are hoping to use the support of the backers to allow us to mass print the game.
