About this project
I am a recent college graduate and a part of that great big pool of unemployed in America. I have a lot of time on my hands but no money!
A long time ago I went to Japan and met tons of cool people. I wanted to give them something back from my culture. I thought a cookbook of all the great Hawaiian foods from Hawaii would be great. However I could not find any books written in Japanese that they could understand. So I've decided that I want to create it myself. The cooking, the writing, the pictures, and the translations would all be done by me.
My idea is to have a cookbook of all the basic, local, Hawaiian foods that you can get while in Hawaii. I want Japanese tourists to come to Hawaii, try the food, love it, and wanna make it for themselves when returning back to Japan.
I have a ton of the basic foods in mind including all the luau foods, chow fun, chicken katsu, loco moco, spam musubi, and many more. If you have any more ideas for good recipes to include send it on to me! I'd really appreciate the help!
What I need help with is the funding of the ingredients to practice my recipes and to edit and create the actual layout of the book.
I do have a publisher in mind who I can send a manuscript to.
You scratch my back, I scratch your back. If you help me, I will return the favor.
Help me with $10 and I will send you homemade cookies. Choose between chocolate chip or oatmeal cookies.
Help me with $25 and I will send you a free copy of the completed book. If it doesn't get published, I'll make a copy for you myself and make it look as professional as possible.
Help me with $40 and your name will be included in the Thank You section of the book plus all of the above, cookies and a book!
Help me with $100 and you can learn Japanese yourself! I'll send you the Japanese dictionaries I used to learn Japanese: The Random House, Japanese-English, English-Japanese dictionary and the Kodansha Kanji Learner's Dictionary.
I would greatly appreciate any help I can get! Thanks!!
