My first deck on Kickstarter was released almost 3 years ago. Inspired by the ancient Aztec art came "Aztec CODEX playing cards" All the pictures were based on the ancient Aztec codex and if you didn't have the chance to get them, now it is the time.
The kings are based on the last 4 hueytlatoanis of Mexico. Cuahutemoc, Moctezuma, Tizoc, and Ahuizotl. They fought bravely to protect the territory where they lived. The deserve to be on the top and have the letter "K" as their flag for the game.
For the queens we have Aztec women doing their labors. Taking care of the babies, gardening, cooking, and watching the house while their men are laboring for the village.
My favorite ones are the Jacks. We have different kinds of Aztec warriors but the most important (and well known) are the eagle and jaguar warriors. They were categorized depending on how good the were fighting and killing people which makes them bloody cards.
The Jokers are nothing but the mystical Aztec Gods. Hutzilopochtli and Tlaloc appear on cards and do not forget that we also have Quetzalcoatl (one of the most loved) on the tuck box. Unfortunately I don't have more space on the deck to portrait some more.
My second deck was released more than 2 years ago and it was based on the Egyptian culture and some of it's really famous hieroglyphs.
The pictures I put on the cards are very selective. I used Pharaohs like Ramses and Tutankhamen to illustrate the Kings. For the Queens I have Cleopatra and some of her helpers as dancers and personal assistant. Humans interacting with animals such as hunting and farming. Finally the Egyptian Gods for jokers and the tuck box
The faces of the Aztec dice will be based on some of the Aztec years and the numbers of various prehispanic Mexican civilizations.
As it was expected the dice will have glyphs on it's six faces along bars to indicate the number of the face.
All the decks will be printed on MPC.
These are the features:
*Custom Tuck box
*54 poker size cards
