Bread and Circus is a gorgeously subversive traveling democracy bandwagon and circus troupe that cruises around Salt Lake City to educate people on the evils of corporate rule and the promise of real democracy.
The wagon is a one-of-a-kind, completely volunteer produced design-build project. The wagon's exterior features eye-catching gold filigree and bold images. Built for beauty and durability, the wagon is an entirely wood chassis set on bonafide pioneer re-creation wagon wheels.
Local Salt Lake talents are writing, directing and acting in loud and beautiful plays and puppet shows to perform out of the wagon. They are decked out in fun and fabulous costumes lovingly designed and crafted by Move to Amend volunteers.
Our wagon will be pulled by bicycles transformed by hand crafted paper mache unicorn heads. We will also amass a procession of local brass musicians, hula-hoopers, jugglers and uni cyclists to help take over the streets in a creative frenzy.
We need money to complete the wagon, sculpt the horses, sew costumes and build props.
So jump on the democracy bandwagon as we ride through the streets in a beautiful display of democratic art and craft shouting, "The People are coming! The People are coming!"
