About this project
Screenshots of the game are at the bottom of the page!!!
Sorry about the laggy, slightly unclear video footage of the game, it's because I used my slow computer with a crappy screen recorder.
UPDATE: For $25.00, you now recieve our next game EARLY, rather than at the official launch date.
What is Sketch Tanks, and what makes it unique?
Sketch Tanks is the first game created by Prelimse Studios. The easiest way to get an idea of what Sketch Tanks is is to imagine the "Tanks!" game in Wii Play mixed with The World's Hardest Game. Sketch Tanks has a unique art style, resembling a drawing on notebook paper. The game has three modes: Normal Mode, in which you have infinite lives, and are able to choose whichever level you want to play on, Arcade Mode, which limits your lives to a set amount, and forces you to complete as many levels as you possibly can before your lives run out, and Survival mode, in which you attempt to survive swarms of enemies as long as you possibly can. Your tank possesses five separate weapons which you use to dispatch the variety of enemies you encounter. Sketch Tanks also has in in-game level editor, allowing you to create, play, and share your levels with others. Sketch Tanks is considered by its testers to be one of the hardest games they have ever played, especially when hard mode is enabled, causing your tank to be destroyed in one hit. With local high scores, you and your friends can compete to see who the best of the best is. Sketch Tanks will be released for PC, Mac, Linux, and XBLIG soon after. We might look into iPhone/iPod/iPad, too!
Who created Sketch Tanks?
Sketch Tanks is being created part time by me, the owner of Prelimse Studios, a new indie game development studio which focuses on creating fun, DRM-free, cross platform games that satisfy our customers.
Why should I donate?
All donation money will go towards funding Sketch Tanks and our future games (specifically new laptops and the Unity3D engine) By donating, you help make my dream of creating games for a living come true, and you also get rewarded! First of all, all donators can get rewards as a group based on the final total amount of money raised. The group rewards are:
$1000.00: Sketch Tanks will be released for $5.00, and kickstarter.com will be thanked in a secret room in the game!
$2000.00: Sketch Tanks will be released for $3.00!
$5000.00: Sketch Tanks will be released for only $1.00!
$10,000.00: Pay what you want for Sketch Tanks! You could pay only $0.01 if you want!
$20,000.00: Sketch Tanks and its source code will be released completely for free, and I will post a video of me shaving my hair off (I have long hair and have not had short hair for somewhere around 5 years).
Of course, you will receive your own individual rewards by donating too. The individual rewards are:
$5.00: Receive Sketch Tanks at launch. This is basically a pre-order of the game.
$10.00: Above rewards plus you will be thanked in a blog post on the Prelimse Studios website.
$25.00: Above rewards plus you will receive our next game (not yet announced) before launch.
$50.00: Above rewards plus you get whatever (short and nothing offensive or inappropriate) text you want in the secret room in the game.
$250.00: Above rewards plus you get whatever you want (nothing offensive or inappropriate) in a special webpage on the Prelimse Studios website for three months.
When should I donate and when will Sketch Tanks be released?
Donate as soon as you can! The kickstarter project will be open for two weeks. Sketch Tanks will be released by June, but I will update the game frequently for a few months to add more levels and fix bugs.
Where do I donate and where can I find Prelimse Studios on the web?
Thank you for your time and (hopefully) donations! We really appreciate your help.
Have a question? If the info above doesn't help, you can ask the project creator directly.
