Dear The Internet,

Good Greetings! It is I, Charles Pieper, maker of moving pictures. I am pretend writing to you all from the year 1901 for I wish to announce the discovery of a strange and wondrous article I found in the newspaper of grand repute, the Chicago Herald.

I found their article to be so odd and captivating that I had no choice as to what to do next: Transform it (as if through alchemy) from the written word into the moving picture! Jumping Jehoshaphat said I! This is a thing that must be done!

But then, alack, alas, oh woe! I realized I had not the full funds with which to partake of such a grand and mysterious venture!

In my mind's eye I see it as a darkly supernatural short film with hints of humor...A thing of mystery that will inspire in the viewer the same awe and wonder in which the original article instilled in me...It shall be in the vein of such filmmakers and artists as the Coen Brothers, David Lynch, and Edward Hopper...

But internet friends I shall need to raise the proper funds to create this film! So if you are as intrigued as I am by this whole endeavor, please find it within your excellent selves to support it...And if we achieve our goal you will not only enjoy the fine fruit of of the film, but of original art that I shall make for you, personally!

Sincerest sincerities,

Charles A. Pieper

Seriously though, here's some info on the article, the film and the film makers!

The original 1901 article takes place in a diner that a mysterious drifter has entered...This strange drifter then proceeds to cause an increasingly bizarre series of events to unfold...

The film 'Last Remnants' takes place in a diner as well...However it is a diner in the modern day. The year is 2012...All seems normal until lo and behold! The mysterious drifter from the 1901 article shows up...dressed as if it's still 1901...and all his dialogue is unchanged from the original article...

Is this mystery man just insane? Or is he possibly some sort of deranged time traveler? Maybe he is just some sort of residual haunting...Could he just be a phantom of time from 1901 that keeps repeating its actions like a needle caught on a dusty old record? Maybe...

What will Elisha's character (a 20-something patron at the diner late at night, just trying to flirt with the waitress) and Amber's character (a tired waitress who wants neither flirting or supernatural intrusion) do to deal with this sudden injection of the strange into their normal routine?

How does one react when suddenly faced with the unknown? What does one do when everything turns upside down and now seems in question? These are the central questions at the core of 'Last Remnants...'
