Do you know Trello.com? I love it.

It's a great tool for many purposes. I use it on a daily basis for:

• Project management
• Collaboration tool
• Groceries and To-Do lists for home
• Reminders
• Notes for meetings

The best about this tool is the flexibility that offers you to create To-Do lists of any kind and adding many nice features to them; such as comments, multiple owners assigned to a task, subtasks, attachments, different lists, etc..

Why a Free Open Source Project?

I am obsessed with having everything organized and written down.. I manage tasks, projects, teams all remotely, and one day these services were not available since their servers were down..I had no access to my data and I couldn't export it..I got a panic attack!

My idea is to create a "Trello" clone but as a Free Open Source (FOSS) project, so that anyone in the world can enjoy almost the same functionality but in their servers/shared hosting and owning their data. So no one else will have access to your data, it's absolutely private. The best of all of this: it will be totally FREE.

Features

Some features:

• Create users profile 
• Create boards/projects and grant access to certain users
• Boards have different lists (ex: todo, tomorrow, done due) 
• Social Login

 Tasks features:

• Owner
• Assigned users 
• Due date (optional)
• Order to do the task 
• Points (we use it in scrum)
• Title 
• Description (BBCODE) 
• Comments 
• Subtasks 
• Belongs to a board and a list 

All of this is going to be managed via an API (for developers), as later we want to build a native Android iOS apps.

Estimated Delivery

We will work non stop to have it ready for September 2014, we have holidays in between but that won't stop us. If you back us you will get early access to the Beta and will be part of the brainstorming.

Our Background

We have developed other successful FOSS recently, working greatly like Open Classifieds open-classifieds.com and Open eShop open-eshop.com . The idea is to repeat the same success using a similar approach and reusing the technology used in these two other projects, which would save time and cost.

He run away from Syria and from a Bank (he was a banker) to end up working in a really different environment with Open Source. Kinan is the brain behind content creation, custom support, product details etc.

Oliver is a Mexican mathematician converted into a PHP developer a while ago, he learns fast and is very driven and motivated, he loves the challenges!

Ewa

Ewa comes from Poland to enjoy the sun, she specializes in Marketing strategies and content creation.

The team and I will love to develop this project as I use this tool everyday. I will be constantly improving it as I do with my others projects.

API and iOS/Android APP 

They have just asked me if we will build an API and an Android/iOS app.

Yes we will build an API from the beginning to be able to do most of the tasks.

The iOS and Android APP will be done if we reach more than what we are trying to fund. I will need to hire a specialist to design those apps ;)
