U ARe! Fashions started with an idea to create t-shirts. One day, about 3 years ago, I told Kenny rather dreamy, “you know babe I would love to design a line of custom t-shirts for women that when they wear them, they feel so beautiful and confident." He said “then, I think you should do it.” I replied, "But I don’t know how to sew." I will never forget the impact of the next two words he told me: "Well learn." That moment was the start of an incredible development, not just of U ARe! Fashions clothing line, but of who I am as a person and my purpose to inspire women thru the platform of fashion.
A good friend of mine who owns a boutique in Georgia, currently carries the line of hoodie dresses at her shop. Recently, en route to Georgia, wearing a hoodie dress, she was approached by a woman in the airport who complimented her appearance and mentioned how pretty she looked in her dress. The woman was invited to the boutique and the very next day showed up and purchased two hoodie dresses. Due to the high demand and response to the fashion line, we have partnered with a production company so that U ARe! Fashions can expand.

Once we have inventory in stock, U ARe! Fashions will pitch to boutiques and retail establishments nationwide. We envision the line will really take off quickly and anticipate the need for assistance to further expand. We would love to find a few 2nd or 3rd year college students, fashion design majors, and offer them apprentice positions. The opportunity to offer a learning experience that has strong potential to develop into a career designing for U ARe! Fashions is a tremendous blessing and just one way in which we can give back.
Being a professional IFPA figure competitor, another passion, I was encouraged by Kenny to make and design competition posing suits… and thus the birth of Center Stage Posing Suits presented by U ARe! Fashions. We are on track to launch Center Stage Posing Suits in June 2013.
And by the end of this year, the goal is to have a clothing line designed for young girls. Amazingness is happening here!
I recently resigned my full-time employment of 13 years to focus on the expansion of U ARe! Fashions. Talk about a leap of faith! Anissa
The foundation of MFB Productions (an acronym for My Father’s Business) was definitely a divine progression. It was a lifelong dream of mine to become an actor, I knew this since I was 5. I did not know when it would happen but the opportunity presented itself and I was ready. I resigned my fire fighting position and went all in. Shortly after the launch of my acting career, I realized I had many unleashed talents. Gifted to write, direct, produce and edit, I began developing my project portfolio.
With big ideas and limited resources, I had to be creative. I purchased whatever studio equipment I could afford in order to mastermind productions as if I had a full crew. I even converted our garage into a studio set. For one production, I unashamedly used multiple Flip video cameras and a hand-held to accomplish the task. You do what you have to do to make it work. I’m sure all artists can relate to that.
To date, I have written two fiction books, Turkey Bacon Brass Benevolence and Means To A Mend. I have written and produced two pilots, Odd Ducks and Turkey Bacon and a made for TV movie, Invisible Influence. I have also written a screenplay for a TV movie entitled, Interview with the Prince. With each completed project, I am inspired to do the next project better. At this point, “better” translates to industry standard camera equipment, an industrial set location, a full crew and resources in order to pay cast members.
When you have true passion and love for what you are doing, the level of determination intensifies every day. My immediate goal for MFB Productions is to produce the next two episodes of Odd Ducks and Turkey Bacon followed by Interview with the Prince later this year. There is no doubt I will accomplish the goals set forth for MFB Productions. Your pledge today will help expedite production and ensure high quality standards are met and delivered.
My overall vision is to grow MFB Productions into an establishment known industry wide for presenting quality with diversity, covering all genres from comedy to drama to spiritual. As the establishment grows as does the capability to offer opportunity to others. Kenny
