About this project
Writing a book is the hardest thing that I have ever done, but I am passionate about this book. It’s been on my heart to write it for the past couple of years. I’m a shuttle driver and have many people in my shuttle on a daily basis. I’ve shared my idea for the book with many of them and “WOW” is the response I get most often. I tell them the same basic story I’ve told you in my video. Some of their responses have been “tell me more,” “that’s amazing,” “that’s incredible,” “you’re a genius” and “where did you come up with this?”
I’ve never written a book before. I’ve never even thought about writing before, but I have an overwhelming driving force inside me to write THIS book. I’ve been working on it for awhile in my spare time, which doesn’t amount to much time at all because I work 70 hours a week, sometimes more. I have an outline of the book. From start to finish. I have written 30 percent of the story. The rest has been recorded on a recorder or on my phone. I’m going to need help writing and editing it. Once I get it on paper, I’ll have to find an artist to do the cover, get an editor, and publish it. That is where my Aunt Kay will be a big help. Then comes advertising and marketing, and of course the awesome rewards I’m offering if you choose to support my project.
The idea started when I attended church one Sunday. We were handed a nail with a red ribbon and a piece of paper tied to it. During the service we were asked to write something on the back of the paper that we wanted to surrender to God, a problem we couldn’t deal with, a situation we were struggling with, drinking, kids, marriage, or a job. Then we were asked to come down to the front of the church and “nail” that paper to a big cross, signifying the surrendering of our “prayer” to God forever. As you can imagine, it was a very emotional ceremony.
As it turns out, my son brought his nail home. He obviously didn’t have any problems, and as we all know, a 14 year old thinks he has no problems, LOL!
As I am a “what if” kind of guy, one day I was looking at this nail, and thought “wow it would be unbelievable if we could find the REAL nails that were used to nail Christ to the cross, we could check those nails for DNA with today’s technology and we could reveal his family’s DNA.”
So, I decided to go back and read about his crucifixion. While I was reading the scripture referring to the centurion soldier who stabbed Christ, it says that the solider pulled his spear out and blood and water came out. I never realized that blood and water came out of His body, and I was amazed by that. I thought that it was so cool, that when it came out of his body, and fell on the ground, that maybe that little tiny bush is now a 2000 year old tree.
Then I thought -- what if it came out and hit the centurion in his hand, and if he had a cut on his hand, it was healed immediately? What if it had gotten all over his head, in his eyes, in his ears, in his nose and in his mouth? What if he swallowed some of it? What would that do? How would that affect him? Would he have certain abilities, would he be immortal, would he be stronger, faster, or smarter? These thoughts multiplied and that is how I came up with the idea for my book.
If I had the pleasure of telling you this story while you were in my shuttle, you would already know more about this book than what’s on my video. You will not be disappointed in this book, I promise you. Please understand that this book is not a religious book. It’s one man’s idea of what could have happened. IT’S FICTIONAL! People are either going to love it or hate it. I'm not changing anything the Bible says, I’m just taking some liberties with some already known facts and putting a little twist on them. Let’s face it, controversy always sells books.
When I heard about Kickstarter, I thought, that’s exactly what I need to realize my dream. As I mentioned earlier, I drive a shuttle and work around 70 hours a week, sometimes more, which doesn’t leave a lot of free time to write, but if my project were fully funded, I would be able to work on this book full time.
Realizing that I needed help to bring my dream to fruition, I started researching what I would need to make this work. My aunt, Kayelle Allen, who is an award-winning, multi-published author, has agreed to help me with my project. She created The Author's Secret an author support company providing custom banners, graphics, book videos, and other media-related services. She is the founder of Marketing for Romance Writers, an organization teaching marketing principles and helping authors promote, and Romance Lives Forever, a blog featuring new authors and new books. Her personal website showcases her Science Fiction books and houses an interactive tour of the galactic empire where several of her series take place.
In addition to my aunt’s help, I would also need:
- An editor to soften my rough edges
- An illustrator/artist to design my book cover
- Marketing and advertising to promote my book, as I plan on self-publishing.
- Cost of the rewards (they are amazing by the way)
I appreciate you taking the time to read about my project. I hope I have fueled your interest in supporting my project, and are as excited as I am about reading the completed book.
Imagine the possibilities that YOU could come up with...

SORRY! But due to time restraints on my video downloads some of my video was edited out. I have made the full videos available on YouTube. http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCkJD3Y6JN4Ef0FFsoJHpp5
Risks and challenges
I’ve never written a book before, so that in itself is a challenge. But with the desire and passion I have been given for this project, one thing is for certain, I AM NOT A QUITTER! I always finish what I set out to do. And THIS BOOK WILL GET DONE! With my aunt’s help, and her connections, finding the right editor to put all my writings and recordings down on paper to make this book a reality. The risks in completing the project on schedule are minimized.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
