BACKGROUND: Throughout the past few years, God has been helping me see my story through a new lens-a lens that speaks of God's redemption and healing and the hope found in him. As an abuse victim, thick clouds of darkness seemed to hover over me for years, never ceasing to rob me of joy and flooding my heart with doubt, shame and guilt. Over the past few years as I have begun to share my story and deal with the events from my past, I have begun to see and know the love and care of God amidst our deepest and darkest moments. His Word has provided tremendous hope and healing and transformation, and great comfort and encouragement has been found in walking through this journey with others in my faith family.
My hope is that through sharing my story, others who are suffering in silence would be encouraged to step out of their darkness into the light: that they will share their stories and experiences, seek help and care from others, and ultimately know the hope and healing and redemption that God can bring despite our painful and heartbreaking circumstances.
VISION: As these certain passages of Scripture have come to life through these experiences and circumstances, I have sought to capture these experiences and truths in the songs on this album. I have chosen 10 songs that mean the most to me for this record. I will be recording this album in early August with the help of Resonate Recordings and a group of hand selected musicians here in Louisville.
GOAL: The $7,500 budget allows for this album to be done with musical excellence at a professional level. This budget hires a group of amazing musicians (mostly Louisville locals), and other creative professionals to assist with video/artwork for the album. It also allows for the CD's to be printed and manufactured.
This core group of musicians includes Jonny Barahona (keys and BGV's), Dave Owens (drums), Ben Pasketti (electric guitar), Ben Martin (acoustic guitar), and Jacob Bozarth (bass) with Jacob and Mark Owens as our engineers.
Recording will take place in early August with the project completed by mid September.
As the goal get close to being surpassed, I will be posting some stretch goals as well!
This is all happening with your help and support! Thank you so much for reading, and please share the word!
Risks and challenges
The biggest challenge is spreading the word. I'm thankful for all of you who are sharing this project with your family and friends throughs social media platforms to help us get the word out!
The musicians are committed and prepared. The space is booked, and we are as prepared as we can be for the recording and production of this album!
While our goal for the final product to be released is mid-September, if there are unforeseen setbacks along the way, we will push the release back to late-September only if absolutely necessary. We want you to hear these songs and receive your gifts for contributing as soon as possible!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
