If you don't win a talent show, breaking into the UK's saturated music industry is near impossible. Read more

About this project
Every year, singers and musicians try their luck on shows like the X Factor. A few go on to be successful, but for those who don't, there's a sense that the show was their last or only chance.
If you don’t make it through, there aren't many other alternatives.
This is Robbie Hance.
A few months ago he auditioned for this year's X Factor.
After getting through his first audition, Robbie decided to walk away from the show during a bad second round. Watching him leave, we knew that he, especially, would struggle to get his music heard any other way.
So we got in touch, and proposed a project to him.
If enough money is raised over the next seven days through Kickstarter, Robbie will be able to record an EP of four tracks, and release a single by Christmas.
Here's one of the songs he's written for it.
There is no label, and no hidden agenda. The money that’s invested will go ONLY towards producing Robbie's EP, and you will have helped us to prove that talent shows aren't the only way for UK music to be supported.
We got in touch with Robbie about two weeks after he left the show (via a video he hosted on a Youtube channel). He began writing his own music and we started exploring ways in which we could help him online.
Robbie doesn’t have regular access to the internet, a computer or a registered bank account due to his current living situation.
Hopefully the EP will be made, and a single launched before Christmas. Robbie will own all the rights and recordings to anything that gets made. If any other opportunities arise off the back of the Unsung project, we will do all we can to support Robbie in pursuing his music.
