Hi everyone! Accoring to this site: http://www.marinetraffic.com/en/ais/details/ships/shipid:755551/mmsi:636015514/imo:9473731/vessel:HYUNDAI_TOGETHER the ship that goes to UK will arrive on 7th of December at 4PM CET. And the USA ship will arrive in NY on 5th at 6PM CET (http://www.marinetraffic.com/en/ais/details/ships/shipid:754234/imo:9337482/mmsi:636013693/vessel:YM%20UNIFORM/_:090bb88197db98725eda4905da7ec662).
@Chen Shi Ying: Final Frontier Games have done an excellent job with this kickstarter and I would happily support their future projects and yes it is being delivered early which is nice. However delivering during the Christmas period is the best way to get games lost or damaged - and that would be a sure-fire way to kill my enthusiasm for Final Frontier. In most posts people make about running a successful campaign there is a point about not delivering in December because it is just asking for pain.
The Australian (and possibly Asian) copies are ready to be delivered, so there doesn't seem like much reason to not get those fulfilled asap to get them checked off. (It would be another matter if each fulfilment company only had half the product or whatever, then it would be best to hold it until they could fulfil all of their stock at once. But this is whole regions are ready for delivery).
The boat for the US will be the last one to get to its location, there is a good chance no ones copies will start shipping until the week before christmas, at which point it would probably be a better idea to hold off delivery until January anyway.
I guess you can't really please everyone. They did promise to deliver in January. Anything earlier is a bonus and should be seen as such. For that matter, anything later by a few months is still good by Kickstarters standard. =D
Keep up the good work guys!
Like other Australian backers it is a bit sad that our games are here in the country and just sitting in a warehouse. A worldwide release is not actually going to be a case of everyone gets theirs at the same time, you're only going to post them at the same time. So that could mean some people wait weeks still to get theirs. Not to mention it being the middle of December and highly unlikely people will get the parcel before Christmas in a lot of cases.
Worldwide release is a cool idea and all, but it seems like it might be a bad idea to intentionally hold off getting things delivered until the christmas period. Surely it will just increase the number of games that are damaged and lost in transit? It might just be bias given I am in Australia and our copies are sitting in a warehouse, but it would be sad to see the games suffing damage caused by the christmas postal rush.
Especially as Canada, South America and Africa are all being fulfilled out of the UK, surely if all the games ship at the same time there will still be a few weeks between the date of arival?
@ArtSchool, we can't make any promises at the moment, but there is a good chance that the backers will start receiving the games around Christmas. :)
Here is the link to the US ship:
@FFG any chance that the game be delivered within the EU (Spain to be precise) before Christmas then?
Hi everybody. Just wanted to let you know that the US ship has cleared customs and is on it's way to New York. The agent informed us that we are on schedule, the games will arrive at their fulfillment centers around the world mid December and we'll start delivering the games asap. Cheers!
I would rather be told nothing rather than "the game is here but you can't have it for another 5 weeks minimum."
Thanks for the update. I appreciate the sentiment behind the worldwide release, but as a US backer I can let you know it wouldn't hurt my feelings to send out the rewards that are ready to go. Of course, there may be logistical reasons for the worldwide release that I don't understand.
@Franco, no sweat.
@Jim Pingle, our partner in US is Fulfillrite.
Which company is handling fulfillment in the US? Ship Naked has been really, really behind on things the last couple campaigns I backed that used them.
@Jonathan, no problem. :) We can follow the boats together to their destinations. :) We expect that the US ship will be released very soon.
@Franco, we edited the update to include the information about fulfilling the games to rest of the world.
Thank you for posting the names of the ships, it's great to be able to follow them.
Hopefully customs won't hold up the US ship too long.
Hi @Franco, that would be the UK shipment. GamesQuest in UK will be fulfilling the game for Europe, Canada, South America and Africa.
and the ship to the rest of the world??? In my case Chile in South America
