Hearts on Fire

We have only a few hours left to reach our goal amount on Kickstarter, what's already been pledged does not go to the company unless we met that goal. Here is another chance to meet the ArasDancers and see what we have in store for our show next month. And if you know Sara, you know she is a huge Rocky fan and it's only appropriate that we have a Rocky theme for our last Kickstarter video....any and all help is much appreciated. It's already amazing with the supporters we have, near and far! Cheers!

The Final Countdown

As ArasDance, begins their final weeks of rehearsal before their Capital Fringe performances, sadly our Kickstarter campaign is coming to a close in a few days and we have yet to meet our goal. However, we hope with this next video it will help even more to shed light on what makes ArasDance a thriving company and also learn more about the artistic director and choreographer, Sara Herrera. Sara is extremely honored to have been asked by DC dance filmmaker, David Dowling, to be one of the artists featured in his documentary, Dancing in the District. She was even more floored when David approached her earlier this week about wanting to help with ArasDance's Kickstarter campaign to help raise funds by making a video for you all to learn more about us. So incredibly grateful to David and his willingness and support to ArasDance's mission. We hope you enjoy and if you like what you see please take the time to help us reach our goal amount, many thanks in advance. And please disregard my attire it was a long day of dance and photo shoots and DC humidity:-)

With love,

ArasDance

Just regular people doing kick-butt things

ArasDance's artistic director, Sara Herrera, is not only a full-time dance teacher, choreographer, mom, wife, animal lover, cousin, sister, daughter, niece, neighbor and acquaintance but also a triathlete and IRONMAN Wisconsin finisher (type A much?) Finishing an IRONMAN is an emotional journey...not just race day but all the hours to just getting there, the people that motivate you along the way and the pursuit of a goal against every negative thought you have. Some people write race journals or recaps but for me, I created a dance piece titled, TRI. We hope you enjoy this excerpt of TRI, which is one of the many pieces being showcased at the Capital Fringe Festival and will have a larger cast. Many thanks to dance filmmaker, David Dowling, for this footage.

So, what song plays on repeat as you tackle your own course? Here's Sara's....(btw I do not own this song just to be clear but I really really like it, thanks for getting me up those steep hills)
