With mesmerizing artwork by Tony Gregori, mystical colors by Jasen Smith, and majestic letters by Nic Shaw, this otherworldly tale of murder and endless cycles of violence will be the perfect complement to the down-to-Earth, rough hewn Mitch Hammer.
Also, we've managed to get 4 superstars on board the MITCH HAMMER train, and their XXL pinups will be included in all physical reward levels.
We've also added a new reward tier for those of you who just want the posters. Because who doesn't want these things?
Now on to the campaign...
MITCH HAMMER IS BACK WITH THE OVERSIZED, XXL ISSUE #2!
For those of you who missed the successful Kickstarter campaign for issue #1, MITCH HAMMER is a 3-issue comic series written by Chris Lewis, with muscular artwork from Fernando Pinto, suave colors by K. Michel Russell, and virile letters by Marco Della Verde. We described issue #1 as the mutant man-child of NEXTWAVE and SHIRTLESS BEAR FIGHTER, and issue #2 is just like that but with even more science-gone-wrong.
Now we are coming to Kickstarter to raise money for a print run of issue #2. Clocking in at 24 pages and a whopping 7.5 x 11 format, issue #2 follows the story of Mitch Hammer, a construction worker on-site at the local community college, who finds himself squaring off against C.L.O.T., the militant wing of the National Blood Clot Association…
After some punching and construction vehicle mayhem, Mitch, his best buddy Jorge, and the brilliant graduate student Katie come face-to-face with a mutated professor of caterpillar studies…
Also (spoiler alert, although you probably already saw it on the cover so just keep reading), Mitch gets a backhoe bucket arm…
Issue #2 continues where we left off, with Mitch battling CLOT, the mutant professor, and his own blue collar insecurities at this institution of higher learning. So hop along for the ride and watch Mitch Hammer dig tunnels with his bucket arm. Seriously, he’s going to dig tunnels with that thing. Is your mind blown yet?
Over here at MITCH central we don’t do floppy. That’s why MITCH HAMMER #2, just like issue #1, is a BIG book. Here is issue #1 compared to a standard comic:
A hefty book like this needs to be stable, which is why we are printing on heavy paper stock for both the cover and interior pages.
And while these books can withstand tons of punishment, we want yours to be in pristine condition when it arrives. That's why we bag and board each issue, and ship using reinforced envelopes, for the absolute sturdiest of packages.
As you’ll see in issue #2, Mitch doesn’t like waiting around. Neither do we. That’s why we’re happy to say this oversized 24-page issue is 100% complete! We’ll be sending it to the printers as soon as the campaign ends, and your books will loudly announce their presence in your mailbox in a timely manner. In the meantime, here's a look at the first four pages:
We're asking for $1800 to make this happen. That...might just cover the costs of printing and shipping the books and other material to all our backers. Anything above and beyond our goal will go towards producing more great stuff for you to enjoy (extra posters, anyone?), as well as helping out with production costs for issue #3. Mitch won't make us rich, but he will make you happy. That's what this is all about.

Risks and challenges
This is my 5th Kickstarter, so I kind of have a handle on how these things work. Also? This book is completely finished. All I have to do is send the files to the printer once I receive the funds, and we should be good to go.
That's it! Nothing more to see here! I'm happy to be finished with this form! Which should explain the exclamation marks!!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
