Inspired and conceived by musicians, engineers and industry veterans, we have taken some of the biggest real life struggles in the modern day music production process, and developed a platform to bridge these gaps.
We set out to create a place where people anywhere could get access to a global community to write, compose and produce songs together. There are many challenges in this process and our mission is to offer a comprehensive collaborative musical exchange and production management system.
What is MixLuv?
There are three core areas that define our platform:
COLLABORATION | Users post their talents, services and requests to the global community. Once signed up, members communicate through search, messaging, and audition music tracks to build their perfect mix.
Here's a quick prototype demonstration of a first time user signing up and music post to the community.
CREATION MANAGEMENT | Our design uses version control and change management techniques adopted by several innovative software communities. The audio track management and storage solution keeps stakeholders informed of all aspects in the production process. Educational components of collaboration layer into this method.
LABEL LOGISTICS | Our label offering allows users involved to secure registration, publishing, licensing and appropriate royalty allocation. Our network of independent and industry contacts aid in distribution, promotion and marketing.
This has been an amazing journey so far. Now we need your help to get MixLuv into the hands of musicians around the world. Hitting our funding goal will allow us to cover initial costs for our Minimum Viable Product (MVP) and deliver to you in 2015. This MVP will allow you to:
- Post your talents and services directly to the global community.
- Search, request, and audition song components to help build your perfect mix.
- Explore and contribute to a variety of music projects.
- Connect with other artists based on geographic location, musical style, instruments, influences and involvement in the community.
- Retain and share your content easily with an audio track management system to better organize your ever expanding cloud of storage.
- Use our simple rights handling and publishing system to ensure appropriate publishing allocations.

Risks and challenges
Our team has worked together on successful consumer facing projects over the past eight years, involving the development of a widely adopted global audio streaming platform and integrated streaming advertising solutions. Our experience is within consumer software platforms and solutions that scale and appeal to the mass market audience. Scalable SaaS platforms development is something our core team is well versed in.
While we are pursuing a full time CTO, our CEO Ray Archie is serving as interim CTO, and are utilizing our core counsel of technology advisors that have prominent backgrounds in technology and software engineering. These technologists have led successful enterprise platform development at companies such as, CBS Radio, Nortel, Moda Operandi, Etsy, Echonest and NOMI.
We are in discussions with a variety of third party development shops and have been finalizing MVP design, and are looking to move into active development upon funding. Once in active R&D, our head of Product has a solid track record of managing feature and scope creep, and has worked professionally for some years utilizing agile development methodologies and practices.
Having spent over a year conceiving this product, and validating our theory in real life through actual music collaboration, we are confident we have the people, process and tools in place to make this a reality.
Make no mistake, the disruptions that have impacted the music industry’s revenue and consumer engagement models this century have been substantial. Notwithstanding these facts, there is a large growing opportunity within the market at a time where connectivity, communications, mobile device distribution and platform engagement are all rapidly increasing reach and consumption.
We have a PR Agent that we have partnered with that has helped us align our launch strategy, and have already begun our media announcements. Read more: http://www.allaccess.com/net-news/archive/story/133998/mixluv-com-s-collaboration-platform-to-be-kickstar#ixzz3EvVvFomh
Along with press strategy in place, we have an early, yet sizable and growing social presence where we continue to pump out fresh content on a recurring basis. Lastly, as music is an experiential medium, we plan to be at many upcoming live music events, including CMJ, ACL and another November date TBD in New York City, of which all strategically fall in the middle of our our Kickstarter campaign.
Due to the change in the pace of music releases, distribution outlets, and readily available engineering software, there is an increasing demand for central management of cloud music collaboration.
There are certain competitors that are beginning to make a splash in this space offering social collaboration and discovery, and seek to connect users through community forums. Our design pushes further to the heart of the issue and incorporates change management and version control techniques that the competitors lack. We have also designed our system to allow you to take a future forward position around artist rights, specifically the songwriter’s share allocation with our label offering.
These two components of our platform deviate from any other competitors offerings. The lack of a feature rich solution available in the market, our industry experience, network and contacts, provide a strong outlook for our product.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
