watch your words for they become actions,
watch your actions, for they become habits,
watch your habits for they become your character,
watch your character for it becomes your destiny.»

"Drachenreich" is the fully fleshed out idea for a cartoon series for children-television in Germany. It is an adaption of a stage play and justified for the German screen - but shall also be available for the international audience later on.
The goal is to fund the execution of a five-minute pilot and the vital aid - I need to open up negotiations with program-managers in the television-trade, whom I want to sell the complete production of approximately 26 five-minute episodes.
"Drachenreich" based on the family musical "Grünfried & Liebalda" which is written by a sensitive, former schoolmistress in the homeland of dragons: in Germany, europe. The stage play is about the three universal values: love, peace & harmony - which are the foundations of all religions and spiritual orientations.
"Drachenreich" is the adaption and progression of the family musical "Grünfried & Liebalda"– which shall simultaneously entertain and educate a younger audience.
"Drachenreich", the pilot - is the recap of the stage play "Grünfried & Liebalda" - in which a loveable couple of dragons and their friends set off for the rescue of a beloved friend which is trapped by en evil opponent. On the way there, they are facing a couple of temptations which they have to persist to achieve peace, stability, prosperity and freedom.
The younger audience shall appreciate the positive impacts of kindness and social behavior and values like rightness and integrity - since these are the essentials of each healthy society.
Nuesret – "the toonski" - created "Drachenreich" and is the funder of this campaign. He is the showrunner and responsible for art, direction and animation. The pro graphic designer worked decades-long as storyboarder and illustrator for the biggest advertising and PR- agencies. He also wrote a bunch of books and makes a living as cartoonist and animator.
Katarina-Angelika – "the mistress" - wrote the likeable stage play "Grünfried & Liebalda" and is the spiritus rex of "Drachenreich". Nuesret met Katarina during works for a joint stage play many years ago. The former schoolmistress is Nuesret's personal kickstarter.
Roland – "the voice" - is writer, dialogue author and voice-over artist of "Drachenreich". He brings in the Asterix and Obelix and Mort & Phil Momentum. The pro creative worked in the advertising branch for many years and makes his living as narrator, impressionist and funnyman. Nuesret met Roland in the Comedy Academy Cologne before they mastered a couple of cartoons together.
Inge – the "manner-popess" (Focus Magazine) and Germany's most popular expert for manners - is joint author and inspector of "Drachenreich". She checks, advices and validates the transmitted manners to ensure the quality. Inge is a authority in this field: she wrote many articles and books, works as expert for tv and gives lectures about manners for youths and adults. Nuesret met Inge during joint work for her successful "Anti-Disgrace-campaign".
Martin – "the comic poet" – is writer and voice-over artist of "Drachenreich". He brings in the The Pink Panther Show-Momentum. The multi talent worked in the advertising branch and makes his living as crime writer, cabaret artist and pro comic performer. Nuesret met Martin in the Severins-Burg-Theater in Cologne before they did a couple of cartoons together.
Alice – "the calculatore" - is the foundation of Atelier Kaymak and talkingTOONS. She never forgets to pay the bills betimes, reconciles creative chaos with efficiency and takes care about the management. Alice is Nuesret's spouse and worked as social worker before she started to strengthen his office with her inventive backup.
TalkingTOONS is Nuesret Kaymak's animation department. Individually developed cartoon projects and funny edutainment for ad and TV arise and evolve right here. To date, it's costumer have included AachenMünchener, BRAINPOOL TV, Brand Health, CT Arzneimittel, GlaxoSmithKline, GRUNDY Light Entertainment, Lundbeck, Sanofi-Aventis Deutschland, STADA Arzneimittel, STADAvita plus various others.
What exactly is the money for? First things first.
29 percent –one third of the complete fund - must be assigned for fees and taxes: kickstarter retains 5 percent, the amount for money transactions accounts also nearly 5 percent. As a German resident and taxable person, I have to pay 19 percent turnover tax for all proceeds on kickstarter.
The production costs
Every second of an animation cartoon series costs a huge amount of money! I need at least 17.800 Euro to handle the manufacture of the five-minute pilot, the pitch bible and the visual aids. This is obviously not a big shot but it is big enough for me not to deal with banksters: I don't like debts at all and I don't like moneylenders even less. If the fund arises more than the inquired amount, the more rewards the backers will get - see the reward list below.
I want to cap a couple of activities. And to be honest, there is a pile of work waiting for.
For the five-minute pilot, I need to...
- adapt the stage play in a introductory episode and
- rewrite the new scenario
- adjust it with the "manner-inspector"
- breakdown the stage play into scenes
- create the gross design of each scene
- develop the dialogs
- draw a rough storyboard
- make the sound recordings
- coordinate the music
- refine the storyboard
- create an animatic
- test the sound
- illustrate the backgrounds
- structure the layouts
- draw the rough animation
- make the clean ups
- put color into the drawings
- structure the takes an export them
- do once more a sound testing
- do the compositing
- add effects
- add sound FX
- do the fine tuning
- structure the titling
- finalize the movie
For the distribution of the series, I need to...
- compile a pitch bible
- fabricate copies
- fabricate additional visual aids
- compile a production schedule
- determine and calculate the production costs
- determine suggestions for a implementation plan
- schedule the implementation
- determine potential buyers
- contact the potential buyers
- make appointments with the potential buyers
- travel to the potential buyers
- showcase the series
- conduct negotiations
- record the process
- say a rosary
For the distribution of the backer rewards, I need to...
- determine and coordinate the reward items
- create cartoon art for customized items p
- roduce the digital artwork masters
- arrange the manufacturing
- coordinate the manufacturing
- schedule handle the deliveries and store them
- box the items, label and frank them
- coordinate the shipping
- do the accounting
- manage the transactions
And to be honest: there's plenty more work to do. This is donkeywork! But hey: no pain, no gain! :)
I appreciate the great idea of crowd funding and therefore I want to pay back a huge part of the fund in return: Every single backer with ANY amount will get a colorful reward! Every backer will get a nice, colorful attention and there won't be any additional charges for shipping. Every pledge shall be a good value and each backer shall become a huge counter value and respect for the material! ;)
Kindly note that there are personalized items included which demands data over the desired version, clothes size plus the provision of a personal image for the costum-made cartoon art.
Achtung: alle Belohnungen auch auf Deutsch! :)
Here now is the list of the rewards: all items are listed - followed by images of the assembly each backer will receive.
Risks and challenges
1. The pilot and visual aid
Propably 2 - 3 month are necessary for the execution of the pilot and aids. Since I don't need contractors for these parts, I can handle almost all by myself. Of course there is always a risk with healthiness and accidents.
2. Manufactured items
I cooperate with a big reliable contractor but there is always a risk with subcontractors. But this is a really huge one with stable prices and a couple of branches so that the production can be ensured.
3. Personalized items with cartoon art
If case of exhaustion of the 4x500 cartoon art offer - I would be donkeywork to execute all drawings, manufacture and deliver them. But there is enough time, in all six months, added into the timetable - to master this challenge. The worst case would be a additional delivery time of a couple of weeks or months.
