Welcome adventurer to our first kickstarter campaign! We have spent many days in the tavern planning this for you all to enjoy and we hope that you will continue to support us as you step into the epic dungeon!
At Ancient Lair we love tabletop role playing games (some people say a little too much, I personally don’t see what’s wrong with staying in character while I go shopping or have a trip to the dentist). If you share our enthusiasm for all things tabletop gaming then we might have something right up your street (or deep in your dungeon).
Miniatures and terrain make up a huge part of our gaming experience and no doubt they play a role in many of yours. There is no better feeling when you smash down a giant undead dragon on the table that you have been painting for weeks only to see the players jump with joy, then about 5 minutes later deteriorate into tears as you slowly melt all their flesh off mwuahaha (I am a nice DM…honest).
Sometimes mishaps occur and the flesh cannot be restored to its former glory, or the party has destroyed evil forever and retreated to their beach resort for some much needed rest. This is where we come in.
We have created a high quality resin display diorama for your beloved miniatures. Whether you like to display your fondest characters or you are an expert painter looking for the perfect backdrop, we hope you like our themed setting inspired by Dungeons & Dragons adventures.
You can't call something EPIC if it's small (that is what my girlfriend tells me anyway).
So we made our diorama as large as we possibly could! I promise we are not trying to compensate for something.
Below are the component parts that make up the Epic Dungeon Display. (The candelabra are actually split into 4 pieces each to make sure they can be safely packed without breaking).
All parts come unpainted.
The Metal etched 'stained glass window' fits into the back of the model with 4 recesses to keep it in the perfect location.
Each Epic Dungeon Display will come with TWO unpainted etched windows.
Plus you get this fantastic box!
The model fits together extremely well but as per normal with resin, there may be some additional work prior to putting it together to make sure you get the perfect fit. Cutting / sanding away any excess and slightly warped candlesticks can happen, but is easily fixable with some warm water!
This model does not come pre-painted.

Zealot Miniatures run a quality resin casting service to produce miniatures in Polyurethane resin. Cast under both high vacuum and high pressure in a hybrid casting method, parts have superb detail and far less gates and sprues than other resin casting methods. They aim to produce casts that cater for collectors and painters who are looking for quality miniatures that will stand out against the competition.

Whilst playing ‘Curse of Strahd’ our DM went on multiple murderous rampages (no, I was not the DM, this time). Whilst not expert painters by any means, we had all spent a decent amount of time preparing our miniatures for the games. We had grown very fond of them over the weeks and months of playing.
After their untimely deaths (Thanks Sam), I wanted something we could display our fallen friends on to remember the good times we had running away from vampires. This is where the idea of Epic Dungeon Display spawned from.
Detailed miniature dioramas are not common. As they are so large, they have a lengthy manufacturing process. For this reason we can offer a better price to you if we order a certain amount of units. Kickstarter allows us to reach more people and purchase the initial bulk order so we can provide you with the best diorama possible at the best price.

We are looking to get all the Epic Dungeon Displays shipped out within 6 months of the kick starter finishing. Depending on the units sold this could be faster or might entail a little wait due to the complexity of the moulds.
Please see the Risk and Challenges section for more detail.

Risks and challenges
Luckily the master craftsmen here at Ancient Lair have been hard at work and already produced a number of final product cast! (Some of which you can see within the pictures on the project page).
Due to this all the sculpting, printing, moulds and packaging is all ready to go! All we need to do is know the final number of units.
The only risk this poses is the delivery timeline estimates being off if this project is more successful than anticipated. So depending on the volume you might be waiting a little longer for your model but I can assure you we will get the Dungeon to your doorstep as soon as possible.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
