This project stems from the X500 Evo computer case I designed two years ago:
For the X500 Evo, over several months, I made full sets of Amiga-style keys, measuring and copying the symbols, font and characters of each key from an original Amiga keyboard. When I finally had my blue-print (the U.K. layout) I started converting it to other languages:
Italian, French, French-Canadian, French-Belgian, dual Greek-American, Danish, Swedish/Finnish, German, Spanish, Russian, Serbian-Latin, Turkish (Q), Swiss-French, American (both ANSI and ISO standards).
Recently I have had requests for new batches of Beige and White, all Black and Dark Grey and White sets.
This campaign aims at reaching the minimum required funds to make sets of key caps for people to use with their mechanical keyboards (full size and TKL models using Cherry MX switches).
The key caps will be UV printed (at over 300dpi) on caps compatible with Cherry MX switches and will be in your language layout, so please specify/email me your preferred language layout.
To spicy things up you will also be able to pledge for entire sets in any of the colours listed or for one single key based on your provided design. Choose Black, White, Beige, Dark Grey, Orange, Green, Lilac, Yellow, Pink, Red, Light Blue key caps or a mix of them (if you want to drive me completely mad...) :-)
Pledge for the Limited Edition sets (AROS and MorphOS, more Limited Editions sets will be available later; A-EON, Hyperion's AmigaOS, ACube Systems etc...) and you will participate with suggestions regarding the look, design and colour combination which will be unique to each Limited key caps set. Once all the suggestions have been collected and the design finalised and agreed on they will be made.
Finally, if you want, you can also pledge for a complete mechanical keyboard with beautiful Cherry MX switches and one of the key caps sets already applied to it, ready to be enjoyed!
So if you fancy a new set of Amiga-like keys for your mechanical keyboard to use on your PC, iMac, classic Amiga, A-Eon's AmigaOne X1000, X5000, ACube's SAM 440/460 powered by Hyperion Entertainment's AmigaOS 4, MOS/Aros boxes or emulated Amiga, now it's the time to pledge!
Where it all started:
Playing with the keyboard...from all LEDs OFF to full on funkiness! :-) Sorry about the quality...holding the phone and pressing the keys...not a good combination. ;-)
