All creative commons licenses are not created equal. No mater what, the text of Cartomancy will be released under “Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International” which means that you can use it however you like as long as you don’t make money, do say where you got it, and do release any and all derivative works with the same rules.
This is fine for fan sites, but we want people to be able to make money from Cartomancy supplements without the hassle of having to contact us (although you can still feel free to drop us a line for help with marketing or to talk about your product). What we want to do is to release a bare-bones system reference document that contains all the rules but none of the fancy writing or explanations under “Attribution 4.0 International.” This would basically mean that you can do anything with the basic rules that you want as long as you say where you got them.
Why not just upgrade the license on the complete rulebook? Because then it would be authorized for some nefarious individual to just print the full game and undercut us. I don’t really think that any of you are that villainous, but we will take reasonable precautions.
