Welcome, friends! Today, I’m here to tell you about Sunnyville Stories Volume 4.
As you remember, many amazing backers brought the Sunnyville Stories Super Special #1 to life in last year’s Kickstarter. With this Kickstarter, we’re going to go one better – we will be funding the next trade paperback of Sunnyville Stories. That’s right – a whole incredible book containing the magnificent adventures of Rusty and Sam with the whole of Sunnyville!
Sunnyville Stories Volume 4 collects Sunnyville Stories #12, #13, #14, #15 and #16 plus the contents of the Sunnyville Super Special #1 AND the Sunnyville Stories 2016 Annual!
But what is Sunnyville?
Sunnyville Stories is the captivating saga of two teenagers in a small town - Rusty Duncan and Samantha "Sam" Macgregor. They have all kinds of imaginative adventures in this picturesque town.
Robert "Rusty" Duncan (left) is a wisecracking city boy who moves to Sunnyville at the start of the series.
Samantha "Sam" Macgregor (right) is a sweet country girl and friend of Rusty. She keeps an eye on him...when she's not laughing at his antics!
So what wild & crazy stories are contained inside?
First, we have Sunnyville #12, "The Case of the Crushed Cake". In this tale mimicking detective stories, Rusty tries to find out what really destroyed the cake the Eftirmatur family (the town bakers) were preparing.
Next, we've got Sunnyville #13, "Games People Play". In this intricate story, Rusty and Sam play a tabletop fantasy game, but Rusty's mom and the town nurse become fearful that the game will corrupt them. Can Rusty and friends convince them that fantasy gaming is harmless?
After that, we've got Sunnyville Stories #14 - "Epidemic Proportions" - this poignant exploit involves Rusty getting very sick with chicken pox! While a worried Sam takes care of him, Rusty falls into a deep sleep. He enters the world of dreams where he meets Winsor McCay's Little Nemo AND the legendary Cerebus the Aardvark (created by the honored Dave Sim)! Will Rusty beat the chicken pox or will he go to sleep permanently?
Those stories sound jaw-dropping, right? How can this get any better?
It does so with the next story that blows away your mind. Sunnyville #15 - "May Be A Price To Play" - has Rusty competing on a game show for big prizes and money. Unfortunately, thoughts of winning are clouding Rusty's mind. Can he concentrate...or will he walk away with nothing?
If you thought Sunnyville #14 was tense, you'd better break out your hankerchiefs for Sunnyville #16. In this tearjerker, the town's beloved fixer of appliances, Jack Jakes, dies. The town struggles to come to terms with his passing and saying goodbye to their dear friend.
All these plus more will be available in the fourth exciting volume of Sunnyville Stories!
OUR GOAL (WITH COST BREAKDOWN)
Our goal is to raise a grand total of at least US$2,500 by Feb. 11, 2018. These funds will print a micro run of about 200 copies of the Sunnyville Volume 4 trade paperback.
The printing of 200 copies of a 216-page trade paperback will be roughly $1330 and shipping those books to me (with USPS flat rate) will be $260.
Padded envelopes to mail out books to you spectacular backers will run roughly about $60. Shipping estimates to domestic backers (with USPS media mail) will be about $236.70 and to those of you outside the USA, the shipping estimates (with international mail first class) will be about $126.30.
Added on will be about $202 to cover processing and the cut that the friendly people at Kickstarter take. An extra $300 has been factored in, which will cover anything unforeseen. That makes a total of US$2,500!

Risks and challenges
Shipping remains my biggest challenge. In spite of careful calculations and even a test shipping, many challenges could arise.
I also have to wear many hats, having to handle creation, publication, mailing and marketing. It's a tricky balancing act but I expect to still succeed.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
