We're going to teach you how to create a fantastic video game in a never before seen way. We want this learning experience to be as awesome and as engaging as possible and at the same time extremely easy to understand.
The course will have some very advanced code and techniques, but we believe our strategy will allow someone with next to zero experience understand it completely and have a great time doing it.
In this course, you will learn the following:
- Basic Programming
- Intermediate Programming
- Advanced Programming
- Game Design
- Level Design
Because we want this learning experience to be as unique and knowledge-driven as possible, this course is going to contain many awesome tests and quizzes so you can follow your progress and see how well you are grasping the knowledge that's being given to you.
Our biggest goal is for you to succeed and not to fail.
Even if you only have 1 hour a day to put into learning how to create a game, we still want you to be able to have the foundation needed to make games on your very own in just one months time.
This is how we're going to accomplish this:
We'll have a total of 15 chapters, after each chapter, there will be a short quiz. Every 5 chapters there will be a main or larger test. A person who has no experience in programming should be able to complete at least one chapter every two days if he spends at least one or two hours a day. This means you will finish the course in around one month and be on your way creating works of art.
- 15 Total Chapters
- 12 Mini-Quizzes
- 3 Larger Tests
- 1 Final Completion Test.
We really want you to learn advanced programming in just one month. That may seem impossible, but we really think we know how to pull it off. It's called incremental learning.
Most courses you learn one single level of programming. That means you are focused on one thing for far too long. A lot of the time you're just learning the same thing over and over again when really, you could move to the next level.
In game programming, you don't need to spend hours on basic programming because of its, of course, basic. We are going to build your foundation piece by piece.
The language you'll be learning is Unity's C#. C# is a simple but extremely useful language. It's very clean and super fast.
- Unity's C#
- Proficient Programming
- Organized and Neat Programming
- Optimized Programming
The $745 we are asking for is entirely going to go into:
- 3D Models
- Course Website/Software
- Voice Acting.
We really want to make a unique course. We want awesome professional illustrations to help explain ourselves better, we want voice acting to make sure we are as clear as possible (I'm not the greatest voice actor, I'm much better at programming). The course website is very important we need to build the quizzes inside, we need to set-up the account databases so users can log-in, as well we need to half the chapters professionally set-up.
Risks and challenges
Completing and delivering the course on time and bug-free is one of the biggest risks involved in a project like this. I'm currently developing two major apps, so allocating enough time to this project will be a challenge. Luckily I will be receiving lots of help on this project, so I hope it will be smooth and done properly.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
