We are also a little bit confused by the fact that it is apparently not possible to order more than one copy of a book. We double-checked but it seems to be a general thing so we use a rather pragmatic solution: if you want to order more than one scroll write us a message on how many you want, we will tell you the amount of money you should pledge (normally it is the price of the book multiplied by the quantity of copies you want minus a little bit for reduced shipping costs). Then you pledge for one copy and we will send you the amount of scrolls you ordered in autumn.
Again, same as 1. If you want a combination of scrolls that is not in our reward packages at the moment, let us know in a personal message. Either we will add the combination as a reward or we will find a solution with you via a higher pledge. Please feel free to contact us for absolutely any questions!
Actually yes, it is. However you have to get used to it. We are all handling books since we were toddlers, turning pages feels very natural to us. In comparison, the scroll might feel a bit weird in the beginning. Just give it some time, and you’ll be able to scroll in your sleep.
At the beginning it was just this little idea that it could be very interesting to have books on scrolls as it would create an analog format which cannot be matched by any digital media. With our first trials and exchanges with authors, we discovered that it was not only great for reading but also really cool for artists of all kinds who could express and present things in a way that gives them an exceptional grade of freedom. We were quite overwhelmed by the feedback we got and we also started to develop much more ideas on what is possible with scrolls. So we decided to get more serious. And now here we are.
As far as we know, there is no one else, especially no other publishing house in the world producing publications on scrolls. We would be very interested to learn about anyone who is doing something similar and we would love to exchange experiences and learnings – so don’t hold back if you know somebody.
Unfortunately not – at least not at the moment. To create the first paper scrolls in our format we sawed scrolls ourselves. Now we found better ways, but it is also complicated as the minimal order for special paper is one ton of paper. That is actually one of the reasons we are doing this campaign. And there are ideas to do notebooks in scroll format in the future, we will work on it.
We have loads and loads of ideas and some plans are quite advanced. However we are also open for suggestions. So if you are an artist and interested in getting published in our format, just send us an email, shortly present your idea and why it is perfect on a scroll. At the moment we are for example looking for cartoonists or creators of graphic novels.
