"Ladies & gentlemen, my name is Mike, and today on [Retrophile TV], we're going to take on... Kickstarter?!"
• About [Retrophile TV] •
Grettings, everyone! My name is, indeed, Mike, and I recently began creating a YouTube webseries entitled, you guessed it, [Retrophile TV]. I am an extremely passionate retro gamer & avid collector of all things from the 8- & 16-bit era.
I began this project as a hobby without any specific expectations of it becoming as big as it has so quickly. Now that this hobby has become a much greater focus in my life, I'm looking to make it more professional overall.
[Retrophile TV] is an ongoing webseries currently in its third season that features completely unedited gameplay footage & unscripted commentary that I try to make both interesting & entertaining.
Part Let's Play, Part Walkthrough, Part Review, All Retro.
• Help make Season 4 better •
With your contributions, I plan to launch & complete a new, 12-episode season. I'm looking to upgrade my recording setup prior to this to include a professional microphone and pop filter to deliver an overall more enjoyable listening experience.
I'm hoping to cover some of my all-time favorites in this season. Some possible episodes may include:
• EarthBound (SNES)
• Final Fantasy VI (SNES)
• Sword of Vermilion (GEN)
• Devil's Crush (TG-16)
• Final Lap Twin (TG-16)
• Crystalis (NES)
• Super Punch-Out!! (SNES)
• Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse (NES)
• ...and more!
• Why [Retrophile TV]? •
Sure, there's tons of people out there on YouTube playing, reviewing, and commentating about games, so what makes my work different?
My ultimate focus is on the game that I'm featuring, not about my boring day-to-day life or other things you probably don't care about. I'm not just going through the motions; I'm here to provide a pure gameplay experience that is equal parts entertaining & informative.
As previously said, I love retro games. What you hear from me is 100% genuine joy & excitement. I'm not playing a character, this is truly who I am.
Long story short, if you love retro games, you're going to love [Retrophile TV].
(Also, we should totally be friends!)
Risks and challenges
The only risks & challenges to overcome now is figuring out what microphone will work best for my setup, and what awesome retro games I'm going to play next!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
