Update: We now have a SoundJaw t-shirt! We have received many emails from parents of young children saying that they hate to give their kids headphones and that the SoundJaw is the solution they have been waiting for. That's what inspired us to make this t-shirt. This shirt is sure to be a conversation starter and we hope you enjoy the design and see the humor.
This shirt will be made in the USA to ensure quality and custom shirts in (small) quantities are not cheap. If you would like this please just add $25 dollars to your pledge to cover the cost of the shirt and the additional shipping. I will send out a survey after funding to ask t-shirt sizes and I will also give you a couple color options (white is for sure but if I get enough orders we can do pink and black as well). Feel free to message me with any special requests. The artwork is done by a friend of mine, check out his site for more of his work.
A Close Up Of The Design
On A T-Shirt
Up until recently the SoundJaw was untested on the iPad (first gen). I had made a fatal error called "assumption", thinking that it wouldn't fit. Well... It does! It is not a perfect fit as the device was made for the iPad 2, a much thinner body, but it does the job. Check out the picture below.
The SoundJaw on the iPad 1
The SoundJaw is an accessory that works to redirect your iPad's sound, giving it a louder and richer tone. You won't believe the difference this can make. I'm sure you can hear the difference on the video but it is even greater when in person. The SoundJaw is VERY portable, making it easy to keep in your pocket. I have used it for anything from watching movies to listening to music far away. It makes the biggest difference when you are outside or a place with a lot of noise (plane, car, train, etc.) The testing done to make sure the sound was loud enough was only half of what I was concerned about. The iPad 2 is unmatched in its slim design and I didn't want to take that away.
Works perfectly with the Smart Cover
The SoundJaw is made to compliment the slim look without the added bulk you may expect. You can hold the iPad in landscape or portrait mode and the SoundJaw won't interfere with the placement of your hands. In my opinion the SoundJaw doesn't detract from the iPad's good looks, it adds to them. If you want your iPhone 4 to experience similar results it will fit it as well. I can't demonstrate this just yet however because the SoundJaw is made from a very rigid resin at the moment. Once it is made out of a more flexible plastic it will definitely go on, and if it doesn't I'll refund your money for sure.
We love the SoundJaw
The thin design makes sure it is not in the way
I am going to be making this device out of plastic, which involves a lot of up front costs. The mold itself is a very expensive investment and so I need the Kickstarter community's help. I have already put money into this so I could keep the funding price low. $7,000 will be enough to get SoundJaw off the ground to guarantee this projects success. I have many future ideas that I'm sure you guys will love. Please continue to check back frequently as I will have updated rewards and video demos.
Take it everywhere
If this project does well I will be shooting a video commercial involving a helicopter and the SoundJaw. I will also have a reward to accompany it if someone wants to take place in a video that is sure to go viral.
Thanks for looking and backing.
