If you took The Last Starfighter and substituted an astronomer lady for your all-American teen male, a space station for the trailer park, and a cosmic knight's super powers for that sweet death blossom starship, you'd have something in the ballpark of how awesome Star Power is as a comic book. The brain child of veteran webcomickers Michael Terracciano (Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire) and Garth Graham (Comedity, Finder's Keepers), Star Power is everything you've ever loved about science fiction and super-heroic derring-do. Having updated a new page every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at starpowercomic.com, the tale of Star Power and the Lonely War is complete and ready to crawl out of the interwebs and onto your shelf. So that's what we're gonna do! But we can't do it without your help.
Danica Maris is starting to make waves in the Millennium Federation. As the star of her cosmic alter ego, Star Power, rides higher and higher, the expectations of others weigh heavier and heavier. While Danica struggles with her own self-doubts, she's asked to join an expeditionary force to explore beyond the boundaries of the Millennium Federation where she finds all new challenges the scope of which may well be beyond her.
Star Power and the Lonely War is a captivating story about accepting our limitations as much as it is about finding our self worth and rising to meet our challenges. It has no right to be as good as it is, but here we are, bringing Danica's 4th adventure to the printed page.
We're making a book! Another one! The best yet! Star Power and the Lonely War collects issues 16 through 20 previously published online at starpowercomic.com. It'll be 160 pages of full color adventure and drama. Space! Aliens! Feels! Explosions! Derring-do! EVEN MORE FEELS! There'll also be a ton of behind the scenes info and artwork not available anywhere else.
Rewards are pretty straightforward. We're offering the book in the usual digital, paperback, limited edition hardback, and artist editions as usual.
As for add-ons, we'll have 11x17" cover art prints available for $15
...extra copies of paperbacks available for $20
...and now, T-shirts for $20!
A note on commission reward tiers: While backers who pledge to commission tiers are guaranteed amazing custom artwork, Michael and Garth do have veto power over requests. Some examples of past commissions follow.
