I have spent the last year of my life making the documentary In God We Trump. It takes a critical, in-depth look at the relationship between Donald Trump and Evangelicals, and connects the dots of how and why they helped get him elected. It premiered at the Big Sky Documentary Film Festival, had its international debut at the Newcastle Film Festival, and has been screened in several cities nationwide.
However, it hasn't reached enough people yet. What we're dealing with here is a group within our country that is trying, with success, to commandeer the nation to reflect an exclusive, repressive set of religious beliefs. As a Christian, it is my moral obligation to stand against this. As a filmmaker, it is my obligation to tell the story. The best way to spread this story is by getting in people's homes through venues like Netflix, Amazon Video, iTunes, etc. This is why we're raising money - to deliver this story before the eyes of the nation.
By working with an aggregator, we have the opportunity to get In God We Trump on these streaming platforms. But it costs money. That's where you come in (I hope)!
The best part of all this is that the movie is done! The hardest part is over. Now it's my job to make sure it gets seen by people who need to see it.
"It's awesome." - Pastor Brian McLaren, author of The Great Spiritual Migration
"So timely and important." - Brian Zahnd, author of Sinners in the Hands of a Loving God
"...a captivating experience... In God We Trump is a film that Christians need to watch." - Rev. Leah Schade, author of Creation Crisis Preaching
Risks and challenges
The risks and challenges pertain more to the possibility that this film won't get widely seen. America is under siege by toxic Evangelicalism and Christian nationalism - if we don't make this film available for all to see, there's a greater chance we will fall victim to it.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
